Nice buddhist monks in myanmar.plz don't give them meat, egg, alcohol, cigarettes. Buddha said if you don't have any food to eat then you can eat meat. Pureveg simple living monks could inspire us to be pureveg and live simple life without any violence. This comment is from the land of buddha lumbini nepal.

Why don't the monks say the blessing chant in return? In Thailand they always do that.

Actually chanting in return is not compulsory. It is tradition, not a responsibility. The responsibility is to be grateful of the donation and make well use of it. And like the other brother said, saying sadhu sadhu sadhu with good intention is good enough. Or you send radiate loving kindness towards your donors inside your mind, not necessarily express it out. Doing good deeds is for collecting good kamma, not for gaining blessing or chanting from those monks. This has become the tradition of Myanmar, so the devotees also understand about this.

I am sad to see that today more then 550 killed in myanmar by their army ! How can follower of bhudha can even think about to harm someone ! They lost their way ! Budha said himself thinking of harming other will harm you ! I know how a man called sidharth became bhudh ! Bhudism became minority in india but still today he lives in our hearts ! When i saw those news after knowing its a almost bhudhist country ! My heart melts aways ! It deeply sad for me to know that those who kills their own people call themself bhudhist 😞
