Once again you take me back to my childhood, swimming at Kalkbay beach, being on the jetty, buying fresh fish, watch the fisherman gut and clean the fish, watch the seals bopping and swimming in the waves, thank you for these beautiful memories. Loved it as always.

Would be nice if there were some more parking in Kalk Bay. At least the work on main road is done. It started when I finished primary school and they finished when I was done with university! Lol
@Travelvids4 жыл бұрын
Hahaha I know that feeling. Regarding the parking, i hear what you saying, but it also restricts an overflow. As it is the place gets to busy, imagine havining EVEN more people there. Now people have to park at St James and Muizies to walk there... which is also a nice thing.

when i visited this place, it was emotional for me because i learned that filipino refugees from the spanish regime settled here permanently. I flew to a very distant and totally unknown country for the first time and ending up to this wonderful neighborhood where to my surprise has filipino roots. I need to visit again.

Love your videos guys, fantastically shot, brilliant cinematography and great content. However, I just wish that you would pick slightly less irritating music to go along with the visuals, or at least just dial the volume way down. Looking forward to your next exploration!

Thanks For the input Craig it was a little high at the end. Seems to fluctuate a lot between different devices and platforms we are finding. We can use copyrighted music as it is blocked on most mobile devices. Always looking for up and coming music artists to work with and give them a massive shout out. So if you know anyone drop us a line.

Can someone say Kalk Bay one more time please? Kalk bay is lovely, but this is more a "shop until you're numb" video and as mentioned in the end, the area has so much more to offer, so much more that makes it ACTUALLY interesting, than little tourist type shops.

great video. thanks. just one question: are there no black people in Kalk Bay? (it seems, with regard to the interviews)
@Travelvids7 жыл бұрын
There certainly are black people in Kalk Bay... but not many. It is a predominantly white neighbourhood. As a long lasting result of apartheid, there is a still a sort of "natural segregation" that happens in South Africa. It's just the way it is.... like in most parts of the world... it takes many generations to see things like this change.... if you look at our long street video you will see how a once White dominated city has become a great melting pot of all colours and cultures... other areas (more distant from the city) are less inclined to change as quickly
@fretufretu68497 жыл бұрын
ok i see. yes, very unfortunately "it takes many generations to see things like this change....". thanks for the info! will soon travel to SA. would like to stay close to the beach, but not to far away from CT center. i assume you would suggest Kalk Bay? or maybe Muizenberg? Simon's Town seems also great, but to far from city center...
@Travelvids7 жыл бұрын
Cape Town is really so small you can stay anywhere.... but staying in the city is great... For Beach, Muizenberg/Kalk Bay etc is great because the water is warmer.... But Blaauwberg side and the Atlantic Seaboard (Camps Bay, Seapoint) is nice too... Safe travels!!!
@fretufretu68497 жыл бұрын
Ok great, thank you for the travel advice!
@chesterdonnelly12125 жыл бұрын
@@fretufretu6849 don't worry, there are plenty of places that used to be clean and safe, which have been taken over, if that's what you want to see. Give it a few years and Kalk Bay could be the same.

South Africa is a country built under rule and divide so there is still more time and it will take time for blacks and other races to be seen around those towns and the Whites likes to be alone I don't know why
@LeonVanDyk3 жыл бұрын

I will say it again Cape Town may be among one of the best cities in the world. But not the best city in the world. The factors to make it the best are. On a scale of one to ten. With one being terrible and ten being excellent. Friendly people:7-8 Crime rate: 3-4 Infrastructure : 5-6 Climate or good weather: 6-7 Things to do: 7-8 Governance : 5-6 I feel like Cape Tonians overrate their own city. They make it look like it's fun and games. But it's not the problems it faces are real. They are not fake news media. So as a city it's not the best in the world.
