I watched your Utah video and waited to see the town of Beaver so I could tell the story of my experience there as an 8 year old in 1964. Did not see it so I got out a map and sure enough no Beaver Utah on Route 89. It was over on Interstate 15 which in 1964 was not called Interstate 15 yet. Maybe Route 30. Anyway it was a 2 lane highway that went through every little town, most without even a stop sign. I am going to tell my story anyway because it could have been any town anywhere in Utah. My mom had this thing about me having a perfect attendance in Sunday School so when we left California on a 2 week vacation to Nebraska and wound up in Beaver, Utah on Sunday morning she said to dad, " there's a church over there let's stop and send him in to Sunday School". A nice lady ushered me into a classroom where we were told stories and did crafts for what seemed like forever. Then we all went downstairs and I saw my parents car out in front of the church. Everyone went left but I went right and out the door. The lady said young man we are not done yet but I kept going and left the building. We did not realize it was a Latter Day Saints Mormon Church where church was an all day affair. By the way I was Lutheran. Still got my credit for perfect attendance. All this just to get that coveted pin to stick on my suit lapel. And yes, we wore suits to church with a tie as well. Love your driving videos.

I too was looking for a memory I collected in 2015 on my way into Utah from Arizona. We started in NC, wanted to check out 66. I just remember after checking out that side of the canyon and heading into Utah...a long, single row of little shack homes. I bet they sat a half mile off the road with the grandest backdrop you could imagine behind these tiny homes. All were basic and alike. Very simply built. Way up by the road in front of the houses was again, a single long row of tables set up. Presumably to sell goods to travelers. No one was out that day and I have regretted not stopping for a picture ever since. This scene is burned in my brain. I've googled it but I'm not sure of the town and I've never been able to find a picture. I was looking again tonight and found this video....which did offer some nice memories. But if anyone knows of the place I saw... please tag me with some info and you'll have a friend for life!

Thank you for this video going through 89 Utah. I have lived here for only 2 yrs and you have driven through South Jordan where I live around there. I didn't know there are that many historic towns and places where movies were made like Footloose and Looking Glass. Another great video my friend!!! I like all of the old buildings that you got footage of plus the mosaic dragon under the bridge. That was pretty cool. When ever my wife and I travel on my jobs we always try to find the historic downtowns and take in the architecture. I'm glad that alot of these towns are restoring some of the old buildings instead of sitting there and leaving them to wrought. Can't wait till the next video!! Keep the footage coming!!

Thank you! Utah was really great once I got through the major cities. I was lucky to find the dragon because it's not real obvious - very cool! I love the old architecture too, obviously. If I had more time I would spend an entire day in most of these small towns exploring every building. Next one (Arizona) is the last one in the series - but I promise it will be a good one!

I travel Utah from Monticello to the Idaho border frequently on US 191 and US 6. My wife always wants to take 89 thru Central Utah, but we are always in a hurry. Now I don't need to since I saw your professional video. Great.

When I was 4 my dad taught school in Rangeley, CO and we used to drive into Salt Lake City for something to do. So I remember the drive well . High desert! The next yr. we moved to CA. Utah is a beautiful state. I enjoy your rd. series!

I love how they incorporated the cars above to be the "Dragon's Roar" I can almost guarantee that a Neurodivergent person got this artwork in motion. Because we can go anywhere and hear a noise and put a magical creature bellowing it. And then all the Neurotypicals say "oh yeah, that does kind of sound like a dragon." My children used to listen to that song "Big Rock Candy Mountain" all the time when they were little, and my middle child always loves to go camping because she always wanted to camp in the Big Rock Candy Mountain. She's 31 now and I'll have to tell her about this place so she and her husband can finally go camping in the "Big Rock Candy Mountains." Lol, was that someone you knew, or just a dancing photo jumper (I was going to use the correct term, but apparently negative things happen when you use un-pc words on the internet)

I just found your page and have enjoyed watching some of your content. I need to check out Piedmont, WY. My drive to Southern Utah is usually I-15 but going back north I sometime use US-89. I'm always looking for old buildings I can include in a night time Milky way photo. At about 9 min and 20 sec in this video there is an old 2 story brick building. Would you be able, and willing, to tell me where this is? I think it would make a great foreground image in a night shot.

Thanks for finding the channel! Piedmont is very interesting, worth the drive! At the 9:20 mark I am in Milburn, Utah. I can't remember which side of Milburn that brick building is but it's close one way or the other if you're driving down the road Milburn is on.

Throughout the drive at any point were you driving high up in mountains at all? Just curious because we're thinking of taking the 89 from zion to Salt Lake City this summer.

I wouldn’t say “high up” but certainly there are many ups and downs because it’s right along the mountains. I guess it depends on your vehicle but I don’t see any issues driving it. It was a great drive!
