I started using poles when I started splitboarding. Now I feel naked if I don't have them even on my solid board. I don't go out without them either in the resort or bc. And since Japow in Hokkaido is sooooo deep, they come in super handy.

Thank you for adding English subtitles to your videos. As a deaf rider, it has made the videos accessible for me, and I'm able to ride harder because of that! This video's English option seems to be in German. I think this is some kind of mistake, can you let me know when it is fixed? Thank you so much!

Hi Xavier. do you have any video explaning your porcedure, or technique on how to change from crampons to board and viceversa on a steep hard slope. In case you are riding down and get into a hard tricky section and you need to take your board of to put it in your pack and put crampons on for unclimbing or move to look for an anchor. Thanks for sharing your knoledge

very good advice! Have you ever considered going switch for heel-edges traverses? I always do that when needed and, of course, you need a twin tip board or at least very good in switch!
@XVDLR3 жыл бұрын
That really works with low speed or exposed traverses indeed but its hard to keep a good speed especially with the big pintailed boards. Xv
@anjasraj6149 Жыл бұрын
@@XVDLR Very useful informations :). In case that there is a line that you really want to do and it is a serious heel-edge traverse, did you ever change the position of your bindings so it is less directional and esier to go switch?

Great video dude! Only one question (which I don't know if you've answered in previous videos), what boots do you use most? Soft, hard, splitboarding specifical,... Thanks!
@XVDLR3 жыл бұрын
Hi Thank you - I always use the Deeluxe Spark Xv, I have developed them with Deeluxe over a number of years, with the goal that they are a good snowboard mountaineering boot... Good grip (Vibram soles) a notch for Crampons, lots of space in the toe box so your feet are comfy for long days in the mountains... they work magic for me, so hopefully the same for others too. Xv
@coachpaul-vedicfitness3 жыл бұрын
Salut Xavier. Merci. Portez vous bien toute la family.

Hey Xavier, Ive been in the backcountry for the past two years and decided that I would join a mountaineering school to help get me to the top of awesome lines on awesome mountains! I was planning on wearing my K2 Darko snowboarding boots for the class but in our first meeting with the school they told me that my snowboarding boots were to soft to mountaineer in. I searched the internet and there aren't any snowboarding boots with a metal shank in them. Just wondering if you could do a video on mountaineering in snowboarding boots?
@XVDLR3 жыл бұрын
Hola my boots will probably be the same than the K2. You should go for the Sitwell ones. Thanks for the video suggestion - I shall add it to the list, appreciated. Cheers Xv

I like to have narrower board for traverse on a packed terrain. So the edges are not too far away from the tips of my foot. Any plan to have tutorial for short downhill on tour mode please? Although I can ski, I am not so confident on that kind of circumstances, and I think I can travel much faster and safer if I can improve my skills on that.
