Nitro World Games was built on the idea that action sports competition should be about skill, progression, and entertainment in equal measure, and the inaugural event delivered on all counts thanks to Travis Pastrana's visionary leadership. In July 2016, top athletes in FMX, BMX, skate, scooter, and inline brought their A-game to Salt Lake City, Utah, and threw down, looking to etch their names in the history books at the inaugural Nitro World Games.
Standout moments include Ryan Williams, a rider known for his scooter skills, competing in his first-ever BMX competition and winning it all. Kurtis Downs secured second in that event with a World First backflip quad tailwhip. And to cap off the night, Gregg Duffy landed the World First FMX double frontflip. When the dust settled, dozens of firsts went down in a three-hour span, and a new contender for the definitive global action sports competition was born.

Nitro Circus is what happens when a group of pioneering adventurers decides to make their hobby into their profession. Say what you want about Travis Pastrana being a legend in FMX, supercross, motorcross....but to me, he is a legend for the fact he doesn’t give a fuck about his legacy he ONLY cares about the SPORT and EVERYONE in it. It’s selfless, it’s beyond what most humans are capable of doing for their respected industry. Most make their money, win golds and retire, this man is never going to stop until his last day pushing ACTION sports in its entirety. THATS what a legend is.

There was a cool sport enough that we were skating back in the day I watch the documentary on it that it was the fastest growing sport in the later 90s more than skateboarding and BMX and then all of a sudden just like everybody dogs on Nickelback all of a sudden it was cool to hate on inline skaters and then they got dropped from the X Games and that was the beginning of the end and it moved underground after that and now it's finally making a comeback. They are for sure action sports or extreme athletes that should have never been dropped in the first place

My favorite thing about Travis is that he constantly give the youngest guys a place to come and learn how to land the biggest and hardest tricks. That way the sport he loves never dies. He could have easily walked away with his money and medals. But instead he’s helping push the guys, that will eventually land bigger tricks than he ever did. His selflessness has helped evolve action sports. Also the fact that he has incorporated inline skating and scooters. Two things that have lost their popularity. Is again another selfless act. I remember how awesome and groundbreaking Tony hawks boom boom jam ( or whatever it was called ) was growing up. It pushed the limits of a live show and tricks being attempted and landed. Travis and the boys took it to levels that will only be surpassed by them and their crew.

The things these athletes are doing on bikes and dirt bikes, is mind blowing. Nitro Circus and Nitro World Games show case the talents of these athletes and the ramp builders.

Man I raced BMX in 90s 2000s, playing Dave Mira BMX on my PlayStation 2 with my cousin, doing triple backflips and 4 minute long manuals, I can't believe how much progress has been made in action sports this decade for all these winners. 13:30 one of the most epic backflips I’ve ever seen. We’ve gotten so caught up in seeing double and even Tripple backs on dirt bikes that I feel like we’ve overlooked the evolution of some of the most steezy single backs ever to be thrown down. Im blown away were ever thing has come cause ill be 28 soon and i Started just like most of they guys injury after another beat my body to a bit starting riding a 4 years old on a cr 60, YOu can get bet i was the fastest kid around hitting 2 foot jumps fullsent 15 feet.
