Twenty one years ago Jim and I were on our way from the cancer clinic to the hospital. Best of Intentions came on the radio. He say pull over and listen to the words of this song. This is how I feel about you. I pulled over and listened when the song was over he shut off the radio. He said please always remember this song. That was the last song we ever listened to together, they put him into a medically induced coma to try and cure a fungus that was attacking his lungs. He never made it out of the hospital. I listened to this song tonight to let you know I still love you and miss you. I can't hear this song without thinking about you and crying for all we have missed together. You were only 33. Love you Jim, Rebecca.

I remember in highschool, there was a big guy who was mentally special. He sang this song during the school program and many years after, even until now, he is the one I remember when I hear this song. I think everyone who heard him sing remembers him still. That sincere guy used to be misinterpreted due to his different ways. Havent seen him for long but I hope he is doing well. If you read this now, you are a good man and Im glad to have known you and even had the privilege to hear you sing. I see you, I appreciate your intentions. ❤️

"Best of Intentions" was released on June 26, 2000, as the first single from Travis Tritt's album "Down the Road I Go." It was also his first single released by Columbia Records after leaving Warner Bros. Records, where he worked from 1989 to 2000. The music video for "Best of Intentions" was filmed at the Tennessee State Penitentiary, where movies such as Marie, Ernest Goes to Jail, Last Dance, and The Green Mile were filmed. The video was directed by Michael Merriman and premiered on CMT during CMT's "Delivery Room" on July 5, 2000. The video features Tritt as a prison inmate, scenes also feature him singing the song and playing guitar, and sitting on the stool.👍

However the things iv seen ,and done I cannot change .I guess the public will always judge me for that.thats fine.i always said to everyone I'll be thefirst to stand up for myself and say I done something wrong.but it all has defined who I have and am becoming. To be today .there's not much left of me inside anymore.my cross is very heavy, but I will get it where it needs to be.she amd my friends, and familywoll always be in my heart...before I even think a thought of them in myind.u see when a man can humble himself and forget about his pride.even knowing she s the one who's right nomatter haw wrong she is put her on a pedestal where she belongs. I studied law and found grounds to be released in 2004 after 14 years inside. I now have a handsome 12 year son and a beautiful 8 year old daughter with an amazingly awesome woman in my life. As much as I miss the attention, the glamour, the power, the life, it’s songs like this that help keep me focused on what I could easily lose.

Dear Mr. Tritt, I don't think you'll ever read this but in truth, that is just fine. You are a busy man. In the musical industry, I can't imagine how hard it is to be yourself and the pressure of having everybody think you are something else. I say this because you can dress one way but sing/ play music in a totally different manor. It is quite a beautiful duality. But may I just say, your gentleness and sweet soul like nature, and sense of humor does show in alot your songs and in your eyes and smile. Don't ever stop. Hope all is well with you and family.

After 5 long years of addiction together, plus the years I had before we met…I had enough, I was going to leave on may 1st 2021 to California to go to rehab… I didn’t beg or even ask for him to come with me this time. He got himself on the same flight, the same treatment. While there we were doing a music therapy thing and he said the song that means more to him than anything is this song and thanked me for all I’ve been put through loving him. They told us it’s less than a 5% chance or something that a couple gets clean and stays clean together, so we knew the odds were against us but we didn’t care. 3 months later we went to a different state from treatment. We have over one year clean now and are the happiest we have ever been. May sound corny but idc that one act of chasing me and changing his life for me when I never asked him to has meant more to me than anything anybody else has ever done. To me nothing could prove that he did truly love me and want to be with me more than that. This song makes me cry every time now…actions speak louder than words. And I want everyone to know that As addicts we do recover . Thank you Jeremy I love you babe!

SDR, I've spent almost 3 years trying to cling on to what we use to have and dream of bigger and better for all of us tried to ignore everything that people kept putting in front of me and just keep hoping that we'd fly back to each other one day and be the team that we use to be just better and now that everything is over I guess I finally truly released you to the universe hopefully now we are both able to rewrite our stars for the better.
