To attribute to how big of a deal this channel is, I didn't even know who Travis was or most competitive judokas until I bumped into the educational content of the channel. Ever since that I was a fan. A fan of judo of Travis but even more so his competitive judo philosophy and his ability and will to share the knowledge. To think that I can access quality resources outside my local dojo for free from Finland is unthinkable. Or was unthinkable some 10 years ago. And even better to be able to interact like in live chat questions etc. Through this channel I've come to know techniques, strategies, philosophy on how to play, get to know some fantastic judokas throughout competitive history and also it was just fascinating to hear about the road to olympic medal by Travis.

Thanks heeps Travis learning a lot .What I learned here was the importance of gripping and getting the grip and sometimes if not all the time we are going to have to fight for it.

Thanks for breaking down my videos! I know I'm not an Olympian or anything so I really appreciate you taking the time! :) I am a righty! I would just go lefty when they would snatch my right sleeve. However I will stick to righty and get a lot better at grip fighting. Also working on my posture and moving as well. Do you have any tips or drills for working on posture at home? If I just drilled a bunch of uchikomis would that help?

Thanks for sending the video in. I had a great time watching it! As for drills go just try keeping your hands at chest and shoulder hight while moving around. It should help.

Will do! Thanks again! Also for the record, my Dad ment to say Tai-toshi not Tani hahaha. We were just talking about Tani before the match so it slipped out.

I am pleased that I was seeing a lot of the same things you were seeing...especially that collar tie and that low left hand. When I am seeing the same things as a player and coach of your level it tells me my understanding is increasing. Thank you for that because you have made this "lockdown" a productive time for me through all your efforts and it is really appreciated.

Thank you so much for everything man! When you talk about keeping hands up and defending the collar vs wrestling stance...is that because of current IJF (no leg grab) rules? I know Judo is played upright but in old school rules would you still control the top to prevent the double leg etc.?
