The day this song came out. I had lost everything I thought I had. I sat in the church my parents were married in scared for what I was about to do . The preacher told me the church was closed I looked up and seen this hole with sunlight and white pigeons flying through it. I told him I don't want to stay anyway and to use that church money to fix the roof and those birds won't keep flying in. He just looked at me. I drove down the river road for one last goodbye and wilfm92 played this new song from Travis tritt. It had been awhile. But as I hit the river road that song had me break down and bawl my eyes out. I was saved from myself that day. I started my life over and 20+ years later I'm fighting for my life again and starting over again just with two loving daughters I'm trying to live for. So Travis if you read this thank you for you vocals and playing abilities and crank out another my friend. Cause it's a great day to be alive.

I don't know, that's always a good question. I think henunderstands his talents because he has fought hard with "the industry" over the years. What a great song! I had never really paid much attention to Travis Tritt before today and now I’m a fan. I heard him tell the story about how this song was written during an interview on Louder With Crowder and it was maybe the best interview I’ve ever seen or heard. I knew I would be a fan even before I listened to this song because I like what it’s about. I like Travis Tritt as a person. I like his attitude and what he had to say about life and about this song. It was written by a guy who was in intense pain and laying flat on his back on the floor. He opened his eyes and saw a ray of sunshine coming through the window and started thinking about how great it was to be alive even though he was in such agony. The attitude of thankfulness and hope resonates with me. Maybe I’ll start doing what he says other people do. Listen to this song as soon as I wake up just to put me in the right frame of mind for the day ahead.

It’s good to be reminded of the things that make life worth living even though it’s not always easy. I had to re-read my own comment to see what I had said that made it sound like I thought Travis Tritt had written that song. I would have edited it if I thought it was misleading but I don’t think it was. LZA could have mentioned that Daryll Scott wrote the song without calling me or Travis Tritt a liar. He could have answered me and clarified what he thought couldn’t be true. I could have respected him giving more information about the song and the man who wrote it but he chose to do a hit and run instead. I really can’t respect that.
