There are so many good, beautiful and dramatic storylines and I have watched the show like a thousand times. It's so good to see peoples reaction to all of this, can't wait to see yours to the next episode, the season 2 finale and season 3 premiere.

The boy call case is inspired on a real case. Many cases in this show are inspired on real events actually. Some say it was inspired on the Steven Stayner case, which is heartbreaking (and inspired an emmy winning series decades ago). That case also inspired the Evan Peters ep on Criminal Minds, but i’m not 100% sure thats what inspired this specific case. Probably is given the name of the kid tho “stevie”. Too close to the real kid’s name in the case. Btw the real case is a LOT more darker than this, OR the criminal minds ep. Edit: just remembered the other kid in Steven’s case was also tommy. So this is most likely inspired on that case. Sadly, Steven did not live a peaceful life after his rescue and his parents were not great parents either :(

What was going on with that kid's situation at timestamp 1046? Steven Stayner and Timothy White, who were kidnapped by Kenneth Parnell. Edit: Oh. Didn't catch the guy's name here the first time watching clips from this ep... they totally name-dropped there, with Eric Lawrence Parnell. (In fact, they dropped the pertinent details, because Steven Stayner was indeed kidnapped from Merced when he was seven. He rescued himself and Timothy White when he escaped.) I kind of understand Athenas mother...As a mother myself, there were many times I felt my daughter was making a mistake with something...I tried to make her understand she was making a mistake with the man she married..She never listened and married him anyway...And of course , a year and a half later, they split because he got back into drugs...A mother doesnt want to see her child make a big mistake but Athenas mom does have to back off...If Athenas making a mistake, then its her mistake to learn from....

What’s even creepier is that the actor playing Maddie’s ex here (Brian Hallisay) is Jennifer Love Hewitt’s actual husband in real life. I don’t know they can go from this on screen to normal home life. It would totally freak me out.

Beatrice is awful she doesn't get any better either im not sure if she jealous of her Athena that whole mother jealous of their daughter thing Athena is a good woman and daughter so im not sure what her problem is or why her dad doesn't defend her
