Traxxas 1/16 Slash Dual Servo Upgrade One

This is a short video showing you how to install dual servo's.

A second servo is not a good upgrade for the 1/16th size Traxxas RCs. The stock servo are very hit or miss and a single good($35) servo can more than handles anything these trucks encounter. Dual servos need constant re-tuning to make sure they aren't fighting each other. There is also no benefit over using one good servo. Two good servos is just plain overkill. Out of the 6 mervs I own 4 have stock servos that broke teeth on the first pack, 5th became very erratic after about 10 packs, 6th was oddly slow but never broke. Savox SW-0250MG is a great drop in replacement.

The only thing i see missing is the need to plug in and center the servos as a pair before attaching the second servo horn. If there is any slight mismatch of where the servos want to center they will constantly fight each other an possibly burn out... Remember to center them before connecting them!

I was thinking to make sure to unscrew both servo saversfrom servo turn on truck alighn servo savers an tires make sure no noises from servos workin against each other then stew in savers an bobs your uncle. I can see 2 servos being good benefit as long as they are aligned an set up correctly.

Very detailed! But what about alignment? How did you know the servo horn was in the right place on the second servo?

Thanks man I've looking for post like that cheers i just need a speccy again now, I sold my dx3e cos it had too many buttons but my nitro revo is taking the pee with buzzing servos so ill try this out cheers. I know i can remove the horn but it doesnt help me.

I wouldent have ran the cord thru the box cause now the seal is all the way sealed an isn't water proof now. And before you connect the sway arm to the servo you need to turn on the car so the servo can set itself to the right angle.

should not the servo saver be tightened when 2 servos are used? if so, how do i tighten the servo saver?

I'm re-installing two new servos on my summit. The first ones caught fire. I noticed when you turned your truck on, there was some humming, my first two servos did the same before burning. I'm wondering of you have had any issues with yours as of yet. As I said im installing two new servo's and I'm also getting the hum when I connect the second arm to servo. I actually turn my truck on with servos not screwed so I can center the TX and wheels before I bolt em down, it seems like there fighting

Make shure the 2nd servo is in the EXACT same position as the current survo when you install!!!

it can max have 3s and then it still goes 50mph for a 3s max use 1500mah or it will overheat i know what i'm saying i have one for almost 2 years

the servo works half as hard it wont have to much strain with 2

Ok so I put in the second steering and did everything you did in the same exact order and when I go to turn the remote, the new steering arm overextends and it will only turn one way. Can you tell me what's wrong

the step he forgot before putting on the new servo horn, it to plug it in and center it first, then install the horn.

That doesn't looks like a slash to me it looks like a mini e revo or mini summit
