Traxxas 4 Tec 3.0 Comparison to 2.0

I was talking with a shop guy the other day. He fears that Traxxas is gonna go Apple style and make exclusive sizing and basically force you to buy overpriced things because after market will be so different. Same car but with a body length that only allows a few aftermarket bodies or their $150 bodies,,,,, I fear the man was speaking truth.

@jmack interests I only disagree with one part of your comment. I feel they have been doing this for years now. They've just changed the formula a bit as of late. They've had a proprietary battery connectors, releasing multiple versions of the same RC with minimal differences between the models and releasing fixes to the issues with their models during the next version release rather than mid cycle, example XMaxx 6S and Maxx. I feel the Sledge is the new formula where they will release an RC they feel requires no upgrades. IMO they've been using the Apple formula for a while problem is folks are not willing to accept it or just don't know it's been going on for a while.

The Factory5 chassis is even longer. I got the Vette and 35rod truck....2 different shock set ups on the 3.0 cars. It will be interesting to see where Traxxas goes with these chassis. Definitely good looking cars.

@Justin D. Davis Yup got that video coming up very soon😊 I really like what Traxxas is doing with this platform. Just going to have to see what third party support is going to be for bodies and wheels/tires on this setup.

I’m still wondering why it’s more money even though TSM was removed from 3.0, because I got a 2.0 Ford GT and it came with TSM from the factory

@The blue Traxxas Rustler If I was to guess a few things. Licensing on the Chevy and maybe the clipless body🤔 The 35 is still more but comes in closer price.

This was my exact decision making process 2 weeks ago at the LHS when I bought their last Ford GT. The sales dude was trying hard to sell me the 3.0 Vette Silver Edition. The Ford was simply a better deal with more features.

@Jordan Bishop The Felony is a great choice. One of my favorite on-road cars. The 4Tec is a great platform for beginners.
