Try RPM a arms for that rear pivot ball issue. (if that’s what you meant) let me know how it goes! You should do another update after a few more essential upgrades like RPM a arms and the part #8619 pushrods and let us know your opinion on its bashing potential. I feel like they make a pretty big difference in terms of durability

The revo is the toughest looking truck without a doubt I was going to go with it then I heard about the kraton and decided to go with it. Had previously owned mugen mbx6 buggy and truggy so after getting the kraton I kinda realized it isn't anything more than a mid grade truggy with monster truck tires on it. I think someone's best bet is to get a used to it mugen and putting monster truck tires on it or new if you can afford it the tekno mt10

Thanks. It was this or a Kraton 6s V5 and in the end I went with the Kraton. I really wanted the E-Revo because I knew I wouldn’t be doing any “extreme bashing” but the Kraton leaves me the option and I’m glad I did. I hit the park and before I knew it I was ripping it off snow piles onto pavement! Good review.

Great video. Turnbuckles and pivot balls popping out - spot on. You also own the sledge now per your videos. Watched both. How much different is the driving / handling is the Revo from the sledge?

E-Revo still handles the best but the Sledge has a TON of potential with a few adjustable links. Love it!

Sold both of mine! Rod ends snap every time out!! Got so sick of the bad design!!!! Bought an XMAXX and it never ever breaks and I beat it hard!! Also a Mojave w m2c and they just don’t break and I jump them off crazy stuff! About to start my own channel bc I love the hobbit so much! Thanks for what you do jj

Joshua Esposito tha is bro! My son had an e revo 2 and so did I buy he hated the Bobbie bc it would break so much. He loves it now w the XMAXX and the Mojave! I think the biggest challenge in doing a channel is adding new vehicles to keep it fresh. It’s so expensive to do that!!

Part #8619 fixes the rod end issue completely. RPM A arms might be needed for the pivot balls pulling out but with the chassis brace straps and those pushrods it’s a tough cookie. Just general wear and tear for me ever since

@ICE STATION ZEBRA ASSOCIATES there are other options including belt driven and B & M racing that could help ya bro. They are thicker gears made to withstand extremes.

The roll cage saved my body many many times. I did end up selling the ERevo and got the Kraton EXB.

From what I've seen with the arma kraton, you buy it, replace every single piece with aftermarket 3rd part parts and then it competes with the xmaxx.

@@GoKaioken both. Look up some kevin talbot videos. Would diff avoid the 8s arma trucks to. So many videos but i think there is one where kevin unboxes the exb. And bends the chassis on the first jump. I have watched him fully upgrade an arma trying to make the best basher and there just not as durable as the xmaxx.. arma parts are more expensive by alot aswell. There is an upgraded chassis by m2 think its 130$. The new black arma big rock is impressing people currently. 3s truck goes like stink think 50+mph and people find that it takes a beating for a 319$ truck.

I watch his videos often. I have the smaller and larger kraton exb, I also have the XMaxx. So far the XMaxx may be the most durable, but that’s if you don’t add power.

Bought my son one for Christmas and it’s constantly broke. First week snapped a front drive shaft. Fixed it the the motor mount screws backed out cause traxxas didn’t loctite them when they put the truck together. The motor shifted just enough to shred the spur gear. I put a new spur gear on the the pinion set screw backed out. Same thing no loctite. I fixed that the the rear driveshaft snapped. Fixed that then the right rear shock snapped at the mounting hole. These trucks suck! It’s been on the bench more than the street! $600 should buy you a truck you don’t have to constantly wrench on.

It'd a true worrier I replaced my esc motor I burn them up. I put a 8 s esc new servo I put a new castle motor in haven't ran it yet. I put front center drive shift broke replace them with harden still . Where u get that roller Kate. Thank for good video. An thanks Traxxas for an awesome trk

I actually wouldn’t consider the ERevo 2.0 anymore. Either maxx v2 or Sledge. Personally I’d pick the sledge.

Very honest review. I really like the revo but the pushrod ends popping off is annoying. Seriously, it happens every time I ran the truck until I got aluminum rod ends. The aluminum ends will last longer but will still break. Arrma is seriously the best way to go

get the aluminum push rods and toe links provided by traxxas (part numbers 8368x and 8619x) then watch UPGRADED RC (that’s the channel name), vid on the shock ends popping off, the name of the vid is “My Solution To The E REVO 2.0 Rod End Problem!”. Since putting those upgrades on i haven’t had any problems with the e revo, (been about a month and a half). no need for limiting straps or anything

Sucks because I've driven the e revo. I really like how it corners and drives. But I do allot of jumping. I jump my Rustler 4x4 and abuse the hell out of it and in over a year I've never broken anything on it. I jump my Rustler way higher then this Revo and have a few bad landings like that. I might go for the smaller Maxx.

truck is a joke my radio broke after about 10 hrs without being dropped. sent radio to traxxas got same radio back nice customer service lasted for seconds [thanks traxxas] 2 hrs later servo went out no wreck involved if you like spending money and waiting for parts because of bad design buy this truck.

Making the pinion gear a little bigger, just keep in mind it will make the motor run hotter.

I almost feel like the mini-revo is the better of the "truggy" class Traxxas offers because it's fairly durable, cheaper and so better value. The Kraton is often marked as a competitor to the Xmaxx bc they're both 8s, but in my mind the Kraton was more of a competitor for this E-Revo 2.0 in that they are the same style except the Kraton was marketed to be more durable "EXB" which of course now we know it really isn't until you upgrade that chassis. I personally don't think the truggy style truck that is larger scale, durable, and good cost value exists yet but I think Armma is about 1 version of the Kraton away to getting there.

Id say that a kraton 6s is the competitor to this and beats it in many ways. Most certainly the talion exb does as it certainly looks tough from the videos ive seen. If traxxas could give maxx/xmaxx toughness in a truggy it would be a slam dunk. I just cant stand raised jacked up looking pickups or the monster truck look, both in full scale going down the road or in rc. Thats why I love the ervo/rustler look and why I own a rustler, kraton 6s and vorteks. Im trying to talk myself out of a talion since its similar to my kraton.

@@mysticaldragon2740 1000% E-Revo 2.0 I don't think they refined it enough and I agree if they made them super durable it would be a slam dunk. As far as durability of the Armma models I am not sure. Some videos have them flying off ramps 50 feet in the air and rarely report damage and others, like this channel, do far less extreme bashing yet break things. I question the validity of some of the other extreme bash channels and what they are reporting back damage wise when things break.

Theres a couple reputable youtubers with a talon that show what it can do and take. Far better that the kraton can. I wont be going too crazy but a double backflip would be cool

I agree it is not a bashing truck. I started out with an E Revo and I broke so many things. I did run it hard, but I could have bought an X-Maxx and batteries for what I have into the Revo. Servos both went within days, and I’ve had the skid plates off more times than I can count for problems with driveshafts, center diff, rear diff, and steering. Pivot balls and caps are a constant issue as well for me.

Yeah I agree. For me there are just other options out there that may be better. The Maxx for a little cheaper and the X-Maxx for a little more... IF you want a bashing truck.

I did buy a Maxx and am extremely happy with the durability for bashing, but wasn’t quite happy with the power or handling so I did the Widemaxx kit, steel driveshafts, and Castle upgrade. It’s an amazing truck now, but again, for the money I have into it I could have bought an Xmaxx and batteries. But that is why I just ordered one!

@@enigma9789 I just got the new(ish) e Revo 2.0 for my son. I like the clipless body but I'm sort of confused. When I put the body back on is the front end supposed to be loose or lift up at all? It looks right but I'm not sure

Indeed, but from personal experience this has been the most fragile RC I’ve owned. And a landing on an arm isn’t even the wreck style that the main issue occurs in.

Let someone who has doing this for years show you how durable it is, and also watch as another truck suffers the same injury on that same video!! Everything breaks. All the big name rc companies that make RTR models use shitty plastic that will break, it's how they get your money. Your success for how long your car can go without breaking depends on how good of a driver you are. I've had a T-Maxx 3.3 for 6 years and only stripped one plastic rod end that was a 5 minute fix.

@@BobBob-ys1xi yep, they all break, and driving is a big part of it. But the Revo is by far the most fragile rc I have. The thing breaks practically every time I use the car. The car is flawed in several ways and over the last 2 years has been the most costly RC I’ve owned and I go out of my way to try and not break it. It started out as a joke, I would bring my Tamiya Lunchbox, as my backup car. Well in over 2 years now it’s never broken so I always bring it. I’ve even won backyard races against Revos with my Lunchbox simply because it didn’t break.

Don’t blame your horrible jumping skills on the Revo, measure the height and create the same fall with the others things will break, all the force and weight got transferred to that point, most rods will bend or break under that type of pressure. I’ve been building RC’s for over 20 years similar will happen in similar circumstances.

Don’t be so upset that I am providing an honest long term review based on my experience. You seriously just posted 4 different comments saying roughly the same thing. I clearly outlined in my video that this is a great RC, but NOT for bashing. I’ve taken plenty of other trucks off the same jump. Based on my experience, it is nothing but fact that the ERevo has a design flaw IF you want to use it for bashing. However, that same design allows for proper tuning for excellent (non bashing) performance. I have better than average “jumping skills” but I’m not in the hobby to race. This hobby is versatile enough and the ERevo is marketed to the casual RC enthusiast, not a “racer”. LOL!!!
