This is exactly how I fell in love with this hobby! I seen a coworker just messing around with his stampede on lunch break, asking a fellow hobbyist what might be an issue with some sound he was experiencing and I was like in a trance walking over to see what the deal was and was amazed to learn they make such advanced cars unlike the cheap but fun tyco rc cars i had as a child which we only ever had a single battery that took a good 8-10hours to charge and once it broke it was broken for good, and I hit them with a plethora of questions, he even let me take a stroll with his after he switched to a less powerful battery and switched the controller speed etc because I had never touched it therefore wouldn't know the power etc. I began studying everything I could that very day and was obsessed! Due to high cost even at entry level I first bought a used nitro revo off him and while i was more than happy, I ended up encountering an opportunity for a used but super modified e revo with mamba monster motor along with everything needed to use right away including 4 bodies, 3 sets of wheels, and a lipo charger with 2 separate 2s 5000mah 20c Batts but I had already bought the spektrum controller and he gave me a controller but said it was finicky, but it didn't matter since I had the new spektrum. I went home, checked a few things, put Teflon tape on the wheel bolts because I kept spinning the wheels off and man it was all in after that! I stopped running 6s as it just wasn't necessary for me, I sold both 3s batteries to a friend I got into the hobby, and since then I got atleast 10 people into it, most of which stayed with it too although our local hobby shop went out of business and many of us fell out for awhile but I got back into it a few months ago when I found another shop opened as I needed help diagnosing what was wrong and have been bashing hard ever since!

My first rc car was TYCO TRAXXX. I loved that thing then a part broke that my dad tried ordering from tyco which took 4 months to get back. Little did I know My dad was fed up at that point and went to the hobby shop, spoke with the owner and bought me my first hobby grade RC car (Traxxas Rustler). I didn’t know all this until Christmas of course but this is the way my dad explained it to me now as an adult. That was back in 1997. RCs/ especially electric have come along way 💯

@@FlashBro-r4w mine was the tantrum and my cousin had the one that works upside down too so it always rights itself and our favorite thing was to kick up dust clouds with gravel lol. Those batteries were so short and took the day to charge though and when I got into the hobby grade ones years later I've invested thousands and still need more and it drives my wife crazy to see more taking up space or me tinkering and fixing but I also help others fix them. We created some fun terrain at a friend's house with jumps and some courses and rock climber obstacles but I still love to just launch full speed but no more than 4s for me as I find I just break it really fast and that's it. I had an Arrma kraton I bought used but barely ever driven and was looking forward to metal chassis until I bent 2 of them and decided my style wasn't good for it. My friend managed to get his slash stuck very high in a tree launching it off of a ramp we made with a large piece of wood and scrap metal and we had to take on a bald faced hornet hive to get it back but luckily did with minor stings (none on me but a few on 2 others). I didn't like slash at first because the first time I drove it I couldn't keep it upright but once I got a better handle on its physics I absolutely love it! I am gonna get an e Maxx next, I've been into alot of smaller scale ones recently and alot of cheaper brands because the kids love them too and every time we have family over it turns into a dangerous mini monster truck rally that has resulted in a few accidents and injuries so far lol. I stopped letting people play with my expensive ones because of course I have a personal bond with them and I had to use a rope and tree to recover a summit I bought from a friend after a mishap over a steep hill lol.

That’s insane!!! Fastest rc I ever had was a exceed drift car with hobbywing brushless system and it was 65mph. At that speed it was hard to keep straight!! Takes skill to hold over 100mph nice!

107 is incredible though! I've never seen over 96mph, we have a skatepark near our house we tear it up at as well as a few construction sites, my friend launched his slash 4x4 so hard it got stuck in a tree right near a bald faced hornet hive and we had went there at night after he put on like 3 pairs of pants, 2 sweats and some jeans and about 4 hoodies, taped up the openings and used a paibters extension pole with a roller frame as a hook and he still got stung up bad as even though it was about 11 at night thry got alerted and swarmed him! Hahahahaha he reported it to the city and they sent exterminators because he couldn't get the car out before aborting and luckily he recovered it later that day. He tried to get the exterminator to get it but he said he wasn't able to reach it as it was really high and jammed in the angle where the branch meets the trunk!

Well if anything its consistent. That e-revo is that 1:8 or 1:10 scale and those GRP'S are they 1:8 scale? I only ask cause I got 2 sets of SRC ROADCRUSHERS I set brand new I'm saving for my speed runs only and the other set for tuning. While I'm running 1:8 truggy with castles 1515 sensored mamba monster x kit esc & motor it's an absolute beast on gens ace rs series pro packs 4s only running 0° motor & esc timing 19 t pinion 44t spur my gear to speed ratio app in almost 3 years has never been wrond and Ives the heck out of it it was off twice by 2mph it says with my tire size motor kv final gear ratio pinion and spur 23t pinion on 6s with 0° timing shell hit 135mph which being a automotive technician for 23 years I truly believe without a doubt it will hit those speed than some. On 4s at 75% torque and 75% motor output % at ¾ throttle output I'm hitting standing backflips with ease. It's a monster with the castle setup and my homemade 6 pack cappack of 6 Panasonic audio grade blue&gold f series caps keeps the ripple voltage way below 1.5 volts 95% of the time below 1 volt ripple. Enough about that what scale size and what scale revolutionary is that. I'm thinking if I go the GRP route on a truggy it will have to be the 1:5 scale tires cause imo the 1:8 on a truggy look ridiculously too small and the smaller the tire the slower you go hense less rpm output per kv. It's like putting a small pinion on your motor and we all know what the small pinions do rite...more torque less top speed. Its amazing how many people I see thinking the smaller tire will make you go faster yet there throwing on large ass motor pinions to achieve these high speeds. Great run brother!! 107mph is killer with the E-REVO no matter how you look at it especially with an audience that can sometimes break the all needed concentration to achieve these higher speeds. Well done bro!
@philipjolley10155 жыл бұрын
Yeah its consistent. Traxxas calls it a 1/10 but its 1/8 size. 1/5 grp on it .
