That’s sidewinder system is pretty solid. I’ve been running it in my XB808 for years and going to throw it in a new Limitless. Sensored 1515 is going in the buggy!

To fix the battery holder in all I did was turn the bar over 180 degrees and the hump goes up perfectly

Even on 3s our hoss motor gets up to like 205*F when run in grass and about 180 on dirt, We're getting the heat sink and fan for the Maxx and putting it on.

Put a 50 tooth spur in with your 18 tooth pinion I run that combo on my rustler 4x4 it works well doesn't seem to get that warm

what if you were to put a heat sink an fan on the motor like the Maxx has. maybe that would cool it off some

I am going to do that. But none of my hobby shops here in Canada have both the heatsink and fan in stock. For now I am going to use a Hot Racing set up that will at least help.

That's a pretty good deal on the combo. For a 1/10 the sidewinder is more than adequate 👍 Bummer on forgetting the GoPro. Happen when you are in a rush to get out and bash! Liked what I saw. Never rey considered a Hoss due to price, but maybe if I can find a used one it could be fun 😀

Yeah I think once I get a fan and proper pinion on this it's going to be fun. But!, I agree that picking up a used one is the better way to go.

Would be great to see some speed runs instead of constant wheelies. I run 4S on mine, have also TAPED the tires on the inside to prevent ballooning. Also consider using a Rustler 4x4 body for more aerodynamics. It will be a tight fit, but will NOT sit high as the HOSS body

What do you need to change S3 to S4 .do you have to change the motor or just ESC Only. Because Traxxas said it would not work.

I put a 17T pinion in my sons and we always run it on 4s, nice little truck, also put the gtr shocks and HD arms on, the only part of the truck I hate is the traxxas aftermarket cvds, too much wobble in the rear so I got tekno cvds on in the rear, much better now wish traxxas had cvds like the maxxs but for the hoss, I also put badland 2.8, the smaller ones on it, and its a fun little truck, takes a beating

Check to see if the pin in the caster block goes thru both side of the caster block on your aluminum blocks, I upgrades minds and the pin does not go all the way thru both side, the pin is to short and Traxxas is saying that this is normal.

Can i ask what you used to space the battery tray tabs up a little ?

I used longer screws and tighten down on to the battery. Not the greatest set up but as you can see it worked. I will be getting a more permanent solution soon.

Do you think it's a better deal to stick with Traxxas electronics if you fill out your warranty card and get the 50% off for as long as you have the vehicle. I ask cause the only dealer close is Traxxas. I have the MAXX,XMAXX,HOSS,RUSTLER ,SLASH ULTIMATE, SLASH VXL,and the only one l really want to sell the UDR. Waste of $700. Scale drive it and it's fine usually. I don't like to scale drive!!. What is you favorite non Traxxas truck?

I've been on the fence about a Hoss for a few months now. I'm new to RC and my first car was a Maxx V2. I tear that thing up pretty bad mostly because of my inexperience. Would you recommend a Hoss for a newer basher? I'm so worried I'll break the Maxx that I find myself not bashing it hard and afraid to jump it (I'm terrible at jumping). Thought a used Hoss would put my mind at ease and make me feel less badly if I do break it. I really need to learn air control.

Likening the Hoss l see lol nice🤫🤫👍. I thought l was going to absolutely hate it. Thought it looked toy grade almost. I guess l thought the plastic looked weak or a bit of the design ldk. Knew l was going to hate it so l bought it for my wife so she could RC with me. Ended up loving it. One of my favorite small tenth scale trucks. And it doesn't have a ton of power, kinda slow. Body depends on who you ask . When it first came out l told the owner of the hobby shop where l go that it looked like a clown pucked all over it haha. Have to ask how do you like GTR shocks on it? I got all the blue anodized parts as well GTR shocks from slash ultimate. Do you think a decent 4s esc would make it come alive a bit if so wich one.

The Hoss is good truck. BUT! It is severely over priced. That is my big issue with the truck.

I did think it was a little funny to by 2 $500 trucks to get one $500 truck when you were done lol. No l get it the shocks are $160 by thereself full back up system smaller can motor but the scream pretty good. That Maxx motor does get boiling hot though figured like you hear the hell out of it and be good.
