I was kind of suprised that it didn't go faster, but changing to a brush less set up is still a good idea. Those brushed motors seemed to go out fairly quickly, the brushless set ups do seem to last longer.

Hello from Russia and thank you for video. I have Rally and Teton, trying to make them brushless. Main problem is motor mounting holes. GoolRC motor has M2.5 holes and they are 16mm away from each other. Stock brushed motor has M3 holes and they are on 17mm distance. Looks like I have to drill/oval holes in motor plate. You didn't said anything about it. Did your new motor fits 1:1? I've bought 2430 motor, but it's on the way to me from China.

If you want more speed with the same motor you got then just get a esc that handles 3s lipo, mine probably does around 30 or 35 mph on 3s and around max speed 25 mph on 2s lipo 35c and you can get the full bearing kit also that helps to achieve your speed limit, my system is from a 1/16th losi short course but did get the hobby park 2435 (4800kv) for my second rally just to have one specifically for 2s and one for 3s

Doesn't the Rally come with hard, more drift oriented tires? That could well explain it being a handful trying to do a speed run in the wet. 😉. I have the Prerunner version and picked up an unpainted Rally body and I'm hoping the Prerunner wheels will go under the Rally body without having to butcher the wheel wells too badly because I really don't want to fool with those Goofy little wheels/tires the Rally is sold with. Speaking of wheels and tires though, anyone know of any alternatives to stock? I haven't removed a wheel yet, but the guy in the shop said they're an oddball size of her drive.
@RoadsideRC
@RoadsideRC 4 жыл бұрын
The stock rally tires are slicks, but actually a rather soft compound. I believe most of this is attributed to the limited suspension design from the factory. Throwing on some better shocks would probably help a lot! So far, I have found zero alternatives to the stock wheels. Boo...
