Traxxas Link TQi Wireless Module Unboxing Install and Setup

Traxxas terminology is a bit misleading about the TQi (blue i) radio. The radio sticker says 'Link Enabled' but that's not true.. it's just 'Link READY' . The radio has a socket to install a wireless module. The BT wireless module is an upgrade part.

Netcruzer Yeah, I just got a replacement Slash for a Slash I had since 2009, and noticed it had all this Traxxas Link Stuff. Got excited for a moment and then realized I had to buy about $100 worth of stuff to make it worth it for me. Lol, the new Slash didn't even give me a normal charger... just a DC car charger

Thanks for the video, it's always traumatizing when you do firmware updates and you don't have a clue how long they will take and so forth. Very nice having and empty beer on the workbench and hearing you guys laugh when the OBA kicked in.

Great video, but the thing sucks! I have a slash ultimare, no thats not a mistake. Every time I try and use this it takes a half hour to do updates. Then I drive the car and it breaks! Says I hit 53mph tho when it worked for once. Like and sub!

Yes you can, it works better than fancy high end radios do! Because the TQi switches models automatically as it knows each receiver is paired to a different RC

So I got this and everything works but my screen looked exactly like yours.. no battery display for the car and the speedometer doesn't work..

Alec Bauer you won't get a speed or voltage or temp reading unless you add telemetry sensors into your vehicle. Link module is just one piece of a whole ecosystem of parts.

Telemetry? A lot of talk about the telemetry module “in my own opinion” Again considering i only clicked on to watch a Traxxas Link video I had to tap out & just watch the Traxxas video Thanks for uploading something I guess

I was looking on amazon and it said that it ddint come with it i wasnt sure if it did or not, im looking at the fox 68-77-24 one does that mean i cant check telemetry or what?

There is no telemetry that you can check without buying and adding sensors. The Bluetooth module add on for TQi is most useful for configuring endpoints and exponential on steering using the Link App. Also allows you to update firmwares.

I have a rustler vxl thats not binding. I dont have the module, but will it bind if I get one?

No, this device has nothing to do with binding. To bind a Traxxas Link Tx and Rx you must hold set button on radio, and turn on. Hold set button on receiver, and turn on.

It's a 3 channel TQi, the Summit has a 4 channel TQi radio.
