I couldn't get very detailed or process oriented help from traxxas and found this. Such a helpful channel to cover the basics! And your unique process has sound technique but the minimizing of the process is truly brilliant!! much cleaner simpler way to get through it. Also like that you just use a powered set to not over torque and there's no hiding that. Makes a massive difference. Worlds faster, worlds more clear. Diagrams are not enough, we need intelligent steps like this. Thank you for posting this!

Thanks for showing the keying on the axels. I broke a bunch and I guess it's because I was just jamming them in and eyeing how much stock I have to leave out, essentially adding a ton of stress to the driveshafts. Actually had them slide in a bunch of times on the keying by fluke and thought to myself that can't be right lol

I have a question for ya since you seem to know the Maxx inside and out... i had to replace the feont bulk head that holds the diff in place, after getting everything back together when i drive it the streering doesnt want to center when driving or when the weight is on the vehicle. It has to be something i put back together which is leading me to the steering is be bound up, what screws could i have over tighten to cause it to bind ? And i didnt touch any steering parts other than putting the bearings on the new bulk head.

Great vid series! Just had my first 'fatal' mishap after 4+ weeks with Maxx . This vid helped me pinpoint my problem at about the 13:40 min mark. My front bulkhead (#8920) was snapped in-half under the skid plate. And once removed, found the front drive hub (#8954) was smashed to powder. (Exibit A - photos.app.goo.gl/oKzFoZFZEgVsdd1u8 and Exibit B - photos.app.goo.gl/X8yMtitgfagefGxF6 ) Wasn't even a particularly violent impact that did her in either. Just wear over time, I guess. Waiting on replacement parts. Now I get to follow your directions on diff cleaning! Yay?

Hi, how are you? I have a question: using a heavier and thicker silicone oil in the rear differential, would it increase traction on the rear wheels to help me do standing backflips? I'm from Brazil and no one on the internet was able to answer this question. Traxxas Maxx 4S.
@rcguygarage3 жыл бұрын
The center diff is what will plant the rear wheels to the ground giving you that capability BUT that is damaging to the drivetrain. It puts lots of stress on the entire model.
@wise--men3 жыл бұрын
@@rcguygarage Woooow!! Thanks for the reply and help!! xD Okay, so the center differential is more important. I'm going to use silicone earplug on it. And if I want to balance this force between the front and rear differential a little more, does the weight of the silicone between them make a difference to the torque force? I wanted to do the same as you and go with 500k in the back. Thanks for warning about the danger of standing backflips, as I only have one RC Truck, I take good care of it, I'm a perfectionist and I won't make many jumps ^^
