Great video took me a couple of weeks to get to it ... but extremely helpful. I think you spread confidence with these types of videos.

What’s up man, I swapped out the bl2s for VXL in my stampede, new slipper clutch, put all X0-1 gears in the diffs and still blew them out, then when I loosen the slipper, it’s too loose and won’t wheelie. Any recommendations or maybe switch to center diff?
@redbanditracing7 ай бұрын
Are you using the stock gear ratio? If you are changing out diff gears with anything but stock, make sure to check backlash between pinion and ring gear. A center diff is great to have, I’ll be switching eventually.

ok so my Russler vxl brushless has something wrong with it so I took it to a shop and the guy told me it was the slipper clutch. he sold me the pieces (which were overpriced) and I replaced everything he told me to (which was all in the video oh and thanks btw it was very helpful as far as putting it back together) and it still has the same issue. so mad. and he upgraded me to aluminum parts then I saw this, he said it cant melt. I am very new to the whole rc thing
@redbanditracing5 күн бұрын
Installing the center diff is much better than the slipper clutch. You can fine tune how much slippage you want by changing the fluid weight.

What part number is that spur gear? I ordered one a few weeks ago and it must have been for the 2WD cause it had a huge offset? Definitely wouldn’t work in the VXL. Also, the Rustler VXL is now coming with the extreme duty kit minus the strut towers. Great vid, also, differential gear oil may play a part but we run ours hard in the street damn near every afternoon and we have the slipper clutches set a 1/2 turn off of full tight. You get just enough bite to barely wheelie.

Have you had any issues with driveshafts since putting on the sledgehammer tires compared to the stock ones? I put the sledgehammers on my rustler ultimate and first ride broke a driveshaft on the rear. Now thinking about upgrading to steel driveshafts such as GPM-SRUS41277RH-B. Any recommendations?

We’ve always broke driveshafts but love the Sledgehammers. We will upgrade to steel CVD’S

Aluminum and steel different use never seize, gray badass, lubricant, between steel and aluminum, I use it on all parts, use it on the spines, for center drive shafts, put a o ring on the splines before putting drive shafts on, keeps the. Center shafts from moving back and forth, and shim, the shafts on the slipper clutch, where it goes in the rear diff, keeps the rear gears in perfect mesh,

Great video, very detailed showing each step. I’m just curious if you may know what could cause my Rustler 4WD to stop popping wheelies!?! I’ve adjusted the shipper clutch and still no wheelies. I may just take this all apart and see if something may be stuck or not working as it should. I didn’t see or hear you mention anything about applying any grease or oil on the bearings, shaft, etc. Did you put a drop of oil or a slight rub of grease prior to reassembly? PLMK if you may have any thoughts or insights. Trying to get my grandson’s truck up and running. Thank you again for the videos and your time. 😎🙏🏼

Definitely don’t oil the bearings, they are sealed and if they are worn just replace them. If you’ve already adjusted the slipper (fully tight, then back off 1 turn) then I would remove the slipper assembly and clean the pads and disc. Sometimes the pads can get glazed along with the disc. Using a scotch pad can clean those up good. You may need a rebuild kit if that doesn’t work.

What was the problem in the first place bc my rustler is basically just not moving it’s locked up not the diffs or motor so I’m assuming it’s the slipper clutch am I right?
@redbanditracing6 ай бұрын
Have you tried tightening the slipper all the way to see if it catches and moves?
