Nice comparison. I've never had a Jumpshot but if I compare my Slash 2WD to my HPI Firestorm then it's Firestorm all the way. Runs and handles great out of the box. I've barely maintained it in a 18 months and still great. The Slash on the other hand needed the low CG chassis, new shocks, new tyres, various RPM upgrade parts where the Traxxas parts broke. Also the Traxxas is the only radio gear that I've ever had that broke down. HPI for me if they stay in business! :-)

I agree that the Firestorm is at another level. It's really hard to beat the Firestorm because it is the better vehicle than the Jumpshot. I also have the Blitz which is the SCT version of the Firestorm. Although there's plenty of videos of the Blitz vs Slash, I might still do one in the future. New to all this and my hpi brushed motor died on me. Is that castle sct sidewinder a specific one that will fit or do I need more info to make sure I get the right one. Would be really thankful for any help here so I don't order the wrong thing since I don't have a hobby shop anywhere near me to go compare. Thanks!!

It takes a 540 or 550 motor with a 36mm diameter. I currently reverted back to a brushed system on the jumpshot.

I haven't tried because of what I'm seeing online about the gears stripping. The good news is that Hpi is going to release a flux version with all metal transmission soon. Hopefully they'll start selling those gears so we can upgrade the earlier versions.
