I would love to see a nitro comeback. I just went last week to a hobby shop and purchased 4 gallons of nitro for my old 2.5r revo that has a os .21 tm in it now, a old nitro rustler 2.5 with a new dynamite .19t mach 2, and a HB D8 1/8 scale buggy with a os speed .21. Nitrogang

Ed do you recommend keeping the 2 speed or changing to single speed. And do you have reverse. Does it run better if you don’t have it. Thanks again great video. ❤️

@@Crazypaint08 , I do have to have my 2 speed. If I raced on a track I would probably eliminate it but for bashing it’s nice to have. No reverse.

I run the O.S. Carb on my Tmaxx and I do prefer it over the Losi carb. Only thing is the price, last month I was going to order an O.S. Carb I ended up ordering a whole TM engine (for the Revo) because I somehow justified the difference in price between the complete engine and the carb alone 😅. So that’s why I try to convince myself that a Losi Carb is ok sometimes. Thanks for watching. You are going to love the O.S. Carb for your 3.3, hands down the best upgrade for that engine.

@@edrc1793 how do you like the THS pipe? Worth it?
@edrc1793
@edrc1793 3 жыл бұрын
@@DerekRC , I do believe it is worth it. HP gains have diminishing returns once you start getting to the top. If you have the Traxxas Resonator pipe you will notice improvement but not by much, I have 3 Tmaxx 3.3s and only run THS on one of them because the Traxxas pipe is ok. The one I run all the time is the one with the THS pipe though, it has the perfect amount of power and responsiveness.

@@edrc1793 how tight is the slipper btw?
@edrc1793
@edrc1793 3 жыл бұрын
@@DerekRC It’s hard to explain how I adjust my slipper but I basically hold the spur gear with my thumb and try to lock it down and I’ll take the car and try to roll it. If the slipper is slipping I kind of judge the amount of pressure with my thumb and I know if I need to go tighter or looser. Or if I can’t get the slipper to slip and I’m pushing hard as heck on the car then I loosen it up a little bit. I may include this in one of my videos I’m not sure if this is a popular technique or not, just something I do after years of messin with them.

I've got some RC heli fuel. Can I tune using that?? U ought to go with a bigger gear on engine or smaller on trans. Lol I ran mine in front of my brothers truck while sitting in the passenger seat and mine did the same exact speed. Mine was originally the 2.5 and I bought the 3.3 to put in it. Its a monster.
@edrc1793
@edrc1793 4 жыл бұрын
I don’t think Heli fuel is the best choice but I’m sure you can get it to run just fine. I run in the grass a lot and in a small track at home, I like having that little bit extra torque. I did recently gear it up higher and dropped back down. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍

I was back out there today with it and I definitely will not be going back to 20% for a while. I used to always race 30% and bash with 20% and I never strayed from that for some reason. But now that I’ve put it in my bashers that’s it, the truck and I are much happier!!

What do you think about switching fuel percentages. Traxxas says stick with the one you broke your engine in on?
@edrc1793

I think the important thing is to tune it correctly. I can’t see why it would matter switching, I haven’t noticed anything being affected by the switch, actually made my engine keep cooler on the higher percentage.

Thanks for watching. I am running a GoPro hero 7 black on the back of the truck. For some reason I feel that the 7 is tougher than the 8. I’ve got an 8 that didn’t last very long, it’s going back for service for the second time. My Hero 7 looks like it’s been too war and back and it still works awesome. Maybe I’ll get better luck on the 8 when it gets back.

What camera are you using that puts the GPS heads up display?
@edrc1793
@edrc1793 4 жыл бұрын
The GoPro Hero 7 black, the 8 will also do it (must have gps chip). You have to edit your videos using the gopro desktop app and it lets you overlay several widgets onto the video, speedometer being one of them. The processing of the video is annoyingly slow and that's the reason I don't always overlay it on the onboard shots.

@edrc1793
@edrc1793 3 жыл бұрын
I didn’t mess with the shims. I’ve heard of that but I’ve been running 30% for several gallons and have not had any issues and temps stay good. I think elevation is a factor as well or maybe even more so.

Shims aren't needed on the 3.3. What is needed is 33% traxxas fuel though, 33% traxxas blend is the only kind that will actually get it to 45mph

For mine I had to richen slightly. Your able to burn more fuel in turn making more power and since you are bringing more nitro into the engine it also runs a little cooler. So you lose a little runtime but you gain a cooler running stronger engine.
