Very cool! I have a big block converted T-Maxx that is ready to get broken in, can’t wait for that. I ran easily 3 gallons through this T-Maxx in 2020, it’s my favorite size truck for neighborhood bashing.

Wow 3 tanks back to back I always consider myself lucky if I run tank & 1/2 without breaking anything lol great to see these 2 Riggs ripping it up my savage broke in half but the moter was still great & of course I’ve had umteen moters on tmaxx now it’s got the savage moter but I cant seem to get past 3/4 throttle without breaking anything in the tranny & parts are getting more expensive every time I use it but it’s such a blast great vid guys

My Tmaxx has been very reliable to me. Last year I ran 3 gallons through it. I have broken things on it but it’s to be expected. I’m not gentle on it. The Savages are a new platform for me, I was always a Losi guy with the LSTs. I’ll be running the Savages more this year and posting some vids. Thanks for watching!

Had the Savage .25. It was a beast! Too bad HPI hasn’t their stuff together over the last several years and stopped production on a lot of their vehicles. Did just see they’re putting out a new Savage Flux Hey HPI how bout updating the Nitro Savage? Say Savage .30 and bring it into the 21 century!
@edrc17933 жыл бұрын
Savage is a pretty decent truck to still be running today, parts are available and it’s a good all around design. I also hope HPI gets back in the game.

I bought the BAS ones. He sells them on Ebay or if you are on the FB savage groups the guys name is Brett S can't remember the full last name but he offers them on there also. I deal direct with him with no problems. I own his hubs for a few savages and Tmaxx/Revos

@edrc17933 жыл бұрын
@@krodyssey4770 those are ones I bought from AliExpress (I believe Amazon has them now also), they are pretty inexpensive. Although I’ve read some folks complain about wheels breaking but I have not had that experience. I’ve run them on my Kyosho Foxx and Revo as well with no issues. The traxxas engines are beasts BUT aren’t durable at all. While most engines can last years , traxxas will last a couple months.

I’ve been having success by replacing the bearings and Carb. Some say it’s not worth it on those engines but I like how they perform and after replacing the crappy bearings they do last a good while. If you keep running them with the OE bearings the engine will destroy itself because they will 100% start to have play and that play will destroy the con rod and then it usually takes out everything inside. I’ve been getting into the habit of just keeping the stock bearings in for break in and then swapping, or maximum 1 gallon, any more and you’re looking for trouble. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
@Bang_n_slang4 жыл бұрын
@@edrc1793 yes the carbs and bearing and rod are weak. Basically the entire engine lol I guess. But once you add the upgrades they’re beasts. Try swapping the stock carb with a Losi carb. You’ll see a huge difference !! Anyway good video bro. I have a Ntc3 with a novarossi 35 on it. I’ll post up a video Monday. Ill be racing an electric car for 💵💵💵
@edrc17934 жыл бұрын
@@Bang_n_slang Nice man, I’ll look up your vid and subscribe. I’ve been putting either the Losi carb or the O.S 11k carb if I feel like splurging. They both run equally well just the metal body is the difference. The 3.3 in this video has Ceramic Boca bearings and an 11k carb, I’m loving this combo with the THS pipe, feels way different than a stock 3.3.

Savage 21 engines last 8+ gallons because big blocks have lower rpms and never get overworked. Small blocks are lucky to hit over 3+ gallons because they hit higher rpms and get overworked.
