I have a Traxxas TMAXX 3.3 that actually started it's life as a 2.5 chassis and a crap load of upgrades (RPM Suspension Arms and Shock Towers, RDLogics 3.3 Transmission case, Motor Saver Air Filter and and a few other things I can't remember right off hand just to name a few.) and a 2.5 TMAXX that has the stock chassis but upgraded to the 3.3 engine. I love them both. Nitro Gang 4 ever my dude!!! Nitro World Order 4 Life!!!

Exhaust gas escaping up is good. It's the oil that needs to drain is why you want the stinger pointed down. It's liquid cooling.

sup brother! I told you! The t-maxx 3.3 is the way to go. It's actually highly drivable in almost all conditions, jumps well, is fast enough, has terrific steering. This was also all done with only 20%. nitro fuel and basic AA receiver batteries (not the rechargeable hump pack) with all stock electronics. Gotta love the t-maxx 3.3.

I just picked up an Xmaxx and I really enjoy the truck, but I've always had a love for small engines so I think a nitro is up next. My dad had a t maxx back in the day. The main drawback of the xmaxx for me is the fact that In order to run as long as a nitro you need so many damn batteries, and those 4s 5000mah batteries don't come cheap as I'm sure you already know.

I love the vids and have 2 questions. Im new to nitro and have a t maxx 3.3, but the steering is super bad. I replaced the servo, but the servo saver ruins the steering, so is there a way to tighten it? Also I have a 3d printer, and have been considering 3d printing a deflector for the exhaust, but idk if it would melt from the heat.

hey buddy! I'm glad to help you out! Those servo savers should all be the same, if it's a stock t-maxx 3.3 they have great steering. The one in this video is fully stock and I'm only running 4AA batteries too. Check your servo saver, make sure the spring isn't broken and it's tight enough. . Also you could upgrade the receiver pack to a 6V hump pack for more power. What you need is a silicone exhaust deflector from DUBRO, look them up.

Just need to fix up the rear suspension arms now and I'll be ready to battle again. BTW this video was with only 20% nitro, not the 30% bones brew nitro I normally run.

You got any wheels and tires for a T-Maxx I just recently bought one used it's just missing the body and as soon as I got it running and shifting through both gears the tires blew apart it's identical to yours in this video it's got to be within a couple years the same this one came with the transmitter with the original iPhone connector and a dock mount on the controller but of course the tires must have had a little dry rot as soon as it started hitting second gear it blew them apart

At least without my needing pointing out I was teasing or being sarcastic. Teehee! I have a strange sense of humor so that's on me. 😊 I would recommend that you go for the aluminum hubs. (by my saying that, you will of course go with plastic.) So... With that in mind, you should definitely go with plastic! 😜 Quality aluminum hubs are a nice reasonable upgrade. Just make sure you go with a quality part and not a off Chinese no-brand. The cheap aluminum parts are almost never to spec. In my experience, cheap aluminum hubs have excessive slop at both the hinge pins and/or the bearing seats. Of course any durably upgrade makes the next weakest part the one that breaks however, it is the "next weakest," meaning that it was less apt to break on an impact than the part you upgraded thus overall durability is improved. Unless it's an expensive part that is now breaking. Oops! Quality aluminum parts adds a bit more precision to the parts they contain, how noticeable the improved precision is however subjective. Outside of a laboratory anyway. D'oh! 🤔

Well. if those plastic parts were 10 years old, that's why it broke..lmao. (is that what i heard you kind of say?) My Jato is 16...when I pulled it apart for the first time in 13 years a lot of the plastic parts were just degraded around the screws. I upgraded to titanium and such...no more issues!

hey bro! Sorry to hear that. What was wrong with it? im curious. Sometimes a minor air leak will cause a terrible running motor, I've had it many times, but rarely on a Traxxas motor. Usually the plastic carbs these RCs use tend to develop air leaks, that's the main cause right there. Anyway, Nitrogang bro! Savage 4 life!!

hey bro! Can A nitro Engine be cracked?? Is that what you're asking. IF you run very lean and too hot then yes, it's possible. The same can be said about damaging electric motors that are run too hot btw, but you will just have a different sort of failure (usually bearings).

DUDE, how sick was that 2-sped run on the sand tho. This thing drives super straight I don't even worry about torque steer or loosing control. And that is with the stock steering servo and the basic 4-AA battery for the electronics.

hey my fellow T-MAXX brother! You gotta watch a couple of my nitro videos where I do repairs and fire up the motor, I usually talk about tuning. Also make sure to read the traxxas manual, there is really nothing complicated. You're mostly only tuning the High SPEED needle, the other needles just need to be at factory settings.

Is that an actual oval RC track or is it meant for something else? If it is meant for rc's, do they have organized races there still?

what's up bro! Yes, this OVAL track is specifically made and built for RC cars. Originally it was used mostly for electric drifters, but they quickly died out when the Nitrogang took it over, lol. Years ago our local Hobby Shop held organized Tamiya TT-01/TT-02 races there (BORRING). These days there is no organized events. Anybody can come and use it, it's part of a beach/park property.

I bought a used original 2.5 Tmaxx which was beat to hell and eventually upgraded everything to 4909 3.3 spec stuff aside from the transmission and steering bellcrank....I’d always have issues with the diffs stripping or driveshafts stripping, now my tranny gave out for like the fifth time.... I was looking at the tranny on Jenny’s rc but I don’t know if I want to dump more money into this currently since I already have a savage that only had one gallon through it.
