I thought the extra weight low would keep it planted better too. This really proves shaving weight at the top is much more effective than trying to compensate by adding weight to the bottom.

I wasn't completely accurate. We didn't get to see what it was stock, just lightweight body no upgrades was. What Was the progression of change just lightweight body?

For ascending, adding the weight to the front only will be more effective than all the way around. It may also help with the side slope since the front is not overdriven.

I think the big thing with brass portals is that when you are flexing out on a rock or obstacle that it helps settle the tires back down on the terrain easier and quicker than not having the weight. I don't see a big improvement in climbing ability, but more stability on uneven terrain.

Good Job ! In vertical test you should use a less flexible board, because the vehicle weight causes flexion and changes the real angle of some degrees (this is the reason all vehicles have problems in the middle of the board and not at the beginning). But this changes only real values, not the great job and the overall results !

I suggest a redo of the test. With the suspension adjusted. Give 7mm of preload up front and 5mm in the rear. When they are set in the middle like how those seemed to be the truck leans and tips much easier. Ever since I lowered my preload and added 2.5oz of weight to each corner it climbs hills and sidehils like crazy.
@wadecaton40177 жыл бұрын
This may sound crazy but it worked for me. The inside of the bumpers are hollow. Mold aluminum foil to the inside of bumpers. Take lead fishing wights and heat. Pour melted lead into aluminum mold. Remove aluminum and super glue lead molds to inside of bumpers. There are other places on trx4 you can also do this.

the way you installed the brass parts, is for a lower center of gravity. to affect climbing you want the weight up front. It'd be nice to see the test with the brass up front only, and the spare of the truck then compare it to the light body.

These are great tests, but they do not show all of the advantages that the brass weights and heavier wheels provide. More weight translates to more grip and less slippage (wheel spinning). This is very noticeable when cresting over a rock ledge or dirt ridge. The added weight also helps your suspension decompress to it's fullest extent when a wheel is floating in mid air and you want it to connect to the ground. Finally when the truck hits a bump and bounces the heavier un-sprung weight keeps the tires more in contact with the ground while the body (over spring weight) jostles around. None of this is covered by these tests and are very important when it comes to competitions and trailing performance. These tests did show improvements and if you think a couple of degrees doesn't make a difference then go stand on a 4 degree road and a 6 degree one. You will feel it in the different way you have to stand and walk on the two different roads (yes, I live in a mountainous area).
