Traxxas Xmaxx 8s High Speed Gearing Install Made Easy!

Installing the included high speed 46 tooth spur gear is an easy DIY. Depending on your usage and style it may or may not be for you..........It turns the Xmaxx into a viscous tire ballooning beast! Too much to be usable????? That is up to you to decide for yourself. Watch your temps if you elect to go the 46T route.

Nice vid👍🏾, I put the high speed gear in and my will only do 45, but I do have the duratrax lockups on mine, don’t know if that makes a difference with my speed, I just didn’t want ballooning

How do you like the Duratrax on the Xmaxx? Have you had any durability issues with the heavier wheels/tires? They surely look great on the beast!

When running 8s it’s pretty considerable gain. It will definitely hit the box advertised speed with 8s and the high speed gearing. For me personally I prefer the stock gearing, lower running temps and more control for my operating style but everyone is different

Thanks for the feedback! The audio was definitely an issue in these early videos but I think we’ve sorted it in all the latest uploads. Better editing software and equipment upgrades are again on the “to do list”. Thanks again, it is always appreciated

I will say even on 8s w/high speed gearing the rustler on 3s w/high speed gearing is much faster. But considering the sheer size of the Xmaxx, once it’s pushing 50-55mph it’s pretty fast for being so massive

Should i keep stock if doing jumps on a field and stuff Or will I appreciate the high speed gear more Thanks

I personally would stick with the stock gearing for jumps and general bashing. The high speed gearing will generate excess heat and has less low end punch/acceleration. The stock gearing combined with the size of the Xmaxx make it seem faster than the actual mph might suggest. Enjoy ripping it up 👍

Thank you so much for your support! Temps crept into the triple digits regularly so it will be a good deal of crawling throughout the heat of summer but the Xmaxx will see some skatepark evening action along the way......stay tuned!!
