In this video I will demostrate the Easiest, fastest, most effiecient way to install Mod 1.5 gears on your Traxxas Xmaxx 8s. I have found the best way is to remove the front shock tower.

Really want to do the max six with an 800 KV motor so I can hit 50mph off road. Also, I’m in a wheelchair so I want to keep the ability to self right. Is there anyway to do that and still keep all the telemetry add-ons that I got for my X- Maxx? And do I need stronger diffs? Would love to see a full rebuild videoI actually took mine apart for the first time and can’t remember where all the bolts of wut sizes go lol. I don’t know if I want to do 1.5 gearing just because I’m not really sure what the benefits are. And they are pretty loud since they don’t fit underneath the gear cover. WFO gear company is pathetic. Small company in Washington state. They don’t respond to emails period. No phone number to call them. Spend your money somewhere else. Last 14 months completely out of stock for their gears. Their steel manufacturer shut them down.

Those look like indestructible gears, where did you buy them from? Although I am currently not an X-Maxx owner, I am seriously thinking of buying one. It looks like a beast of a truck. I was disappointed by the Kraton 8S, that is why I am leaning tours an X-Maxx.

The gears I sold for awhile. Until I had customers break them and the manufacturer never provided any kind of warranty. The kraton 8 has its own special place and is kinda a snail. You can’t go wrong with the Xmaxx that’s for sure. Beat basher ive ever had💯👍

So I just found out you can modify the stock shaft. Just takes a bit of work. You’ll need to grind a flat spot

It is true that those gears are expensive but its even more expensive when you take into account an lack of the cush drive which does serve a purpose in protecting to an extent The 3 Differentials & then not forgetting, increased power? sure Xmaxx is a balancing act but always ALWAYS has to be repaired! #facepalm

The gears are very expensive! But if you want to keep the kush drive you can still do that as well and buy mod 1.5 gears. It’s really up to how you want to drive your truck. I have very good luck without the Cush drive. Never really have any problems to be honest

Hey Chris, I just installed mamba x , 800 kv. I had a vitavon 25/35 1.5 mod, and it wasn't fast at all , haha more for 1100 kv. So I ordered 30/30, plus I can mix n match 30/35 too. My question is will the mamba x handle 30/35? Or is 30/30 what I'm looking for?

Hello! The 1100 will be much faster lower geared and will be more fun. You can even go 25/25

Hello!! That’s an excellent motor esc combo. And the 30/30 will be perfect as well. I use the brand “Locktite” blue. And I use a dab on both grubs screws and a small small dab on the motor shaft. You may have to use a puller to get the pinion off when you want to change it. But that’s better than it flying off and ruining other things in the truck. Keeps it super secure

I just installed my first 30 35 geras on my x max in right away in my first punch the both tooth on pin and spur broke is it just how it is with big gears 😒need help guys what did ido wrong should I go with a belt drive

I no longer sell those parts anymore. Or use them. If you use mod 1.5 gears you need a bigger motor mount. Then you adjust up and down for the gear mesh

Big question. What was your top speed and could you still wheelie through the whole Power Band with 3030 gear. I think I'm 2330 and I can't keep the front end down and I top out at probably 50

Hey I literally just bought the new x maxx today. I was thinking of installing the 8s castle creations xlx 2028 -800 kv combo . I just spent $1600.00 on the truck , 2 batteries and the live dual charger. I really don’t want to cut my top brace to do this . I squeezed the mmx 1515 -2200kv in my slash without cutting anything. Can you give me any ideas ? Thank you

But I also found an aftermarket aluminum top brace with an esc mounting plate . I just really want a badass X-Maxx that’s fast . Thank you for your reply. Ok, if you plan on just bashing it. Stick with the stock motor for now and buy a hobbywing max6. My stock Traxxas esc caught fire and was about $450 total in damage. Traxxas helped me tremendously. The bigger kv motors are fun and fast, but they come at a cost high dollars and added weight. The weight part is the one that slows the truck down. I once had a fully modded Xmaxx. Long story short I like it lighter with less aluminum parts way way more

You will like the castle 800 motor and esc. They are both very nice. Just in my opinion the motor add about a pound and for me it effects the performance ALOT. And going fast is only fun for me so much. But for speed runs definitely would buy a bigger motor
