www.vladtv.com - Long Beach native Tray Deee sat down with VladTV and spoke on his Crip set, The Insane Crips, calling them "the most notorious gang to come from the eastside of Long Beach." He says he's not just saying that because he's a member, but because they decided early on to live up the "insane" in their name, and were even hard on each other when it came to following protocol. Tray also revealed that Snoop Dogg originally wanted to join the Insane Crips because all of his cousins were members, but he felt they were too hard on their own members, and went with Rolling 20's instead.
Hear what Tray Deee has to say about the OG crip set above.

People that arent from the LA will never understand gang culture. They think this is a trend u get into and phase out. Yes as u get older u r less active but gangs in LA will never go away. Over here u have whole families and generations and generations that belong in gangs. Gangs are established in neighborhoods like the light posts in the street. Its a part of the neighborhood. Its not like places in other part of the countries where gangs is a thing u do when ur a bored teenager.

CTSFive Who the fuck is going to do that man? Dude, this is why you guys should not comment on shit you have no clue about. When this guy is talking about "family" he's talking about THEIR own gang. Think of it as an ARMY. The same way the US Military would approach a situation. Once you're in, you bond with the the guys that are in your fam/gang/military. And when it comes to the violence surrounding it? It's about retaliation/defense or politics/business. The same way the Military kills people, only they make people believe it's "normal". Obviously other factors are involved. Many kids who join gangs come from poor backgrounds or families who have no guidance. So it becomes easier to get brain washed and slowly but surely, you're in it committing crimes. Many don't even have a clue what they are getting themselves into. They find love/attention/friendship from these gangs and ignore the consequences because that's all they know. They weren't all raised like you. It's complicated. People don't understand this because they have never experienced the influence nor do they have the sufficient knowledge to understand what goes on in their mind from a psychological point of view. It's common sense but not for everyone.

Gangs are a culture in LA, if you don't understand it that's on you. But don't hand out L's because u don't understand it. If u grew up in that environment maybe u wouldn't b n a gang but u would understand it better. Do ya thing but don't diss nobody else cause they ain't doing what you doing. And I'm from the east coast

It's about growing up in an environment that u kno nothing about but saying it's corny.just because you don't get it or it dosent make sense to you dosent mean it's meaningless or you shud diss it. Understand first, at least try, talk to a real TRU gang member. Don't just build an opinion because u don't understand it

Wizethoughts Revolve There's nothing to understand about it. Most street gangs are involved in violent and illegal activity and make areas violent. Just because you grew up poor or in a bad environment doesn't mean that you have to join a gang. It is a negative life choice and I have no sympathy for people involved in that.

ThisIsAUsername I understand your point of view but this is something dating back to the fifties and sixties, it's not a trend it's a way of life. If you grew up in a nice neighborhood and everyone's parents have good jobs , nine times out of ten you will too but it's not guaranteed. Just like chicago, ppl think it's a trend because their music is "the in thing" but that's been going on so long it's instilled in those ppl. I'm not knocking you for feeling how you feel and I don't knock them for doing what they do

THEM PROJECTS GOT TORE DOWN AND PPL WHERE MOVED INTO RIVAL TERRITORIES.THEY START CLAIMING BLOCKS.IF A SOMEONE GOT KILLED THEY WILL NAME A GANG AFTER HIM AND SO IT CONTINUES ETC.THEY DONT DRESS LIKE LA BANGERS WITH COLORS ALL THE TIME .SOME DO SOME DONT. I told them my son isn't going to be from a gang like me but if he was going to be from a gang it would be a Mexican gang. I ended up calling those kids out by name n told them to get home n this better not happen again. This was on Linden n 61st n front of Ms. Jones house Striker from 20s mamas house.

Insanes are definitely the most known black gang in LB, if not the most known in general. If you've ever been out here, you'd know they're thick as f*ck, not even counting the youngins that claim or are just affiliated that ride with them Eastside, Westside Insane and a gang of Northsiders. LB 20s will always be under the shadow of them. From what I know ESL and ICG were cool back in the day, both long established gangs in LB, it all got f*cked up in the late 80s early 90s with the racial tension emerging from TRG/ABZ and later on with the Racial tension from L.A. It's actually hard to run into a 20, people don't realize that BIG & 20s aren't the only black gang on the eastside, 19GC, Linden Blocc etc. I'm pretty damn sure 20s wouldn't have branched out of state without snoop, but then again a lot of OT mothafuckas bang some weird unknown sets that no one realizes exists out here. Yeah TRG just couldn't last, pushing all sides of longoK and then cK, So many fools on their head being a minority it's bound to happen that they are how they are now.

I respect Snoop dog, but some black guy attacked me when I was going to Chaffey College for know reason a few years back, I just got back from New York, helping volunteering with the Obama Administration prevent ing our country from economic crisis, the girl that looked like me back then was the agitator, but, I did not know that at the time. what happened to me made me resent the black man even more, that day.

When I got put on the hood, I had to: 1. Rub smashed bananas on my face. 2. Slapbox in my underwear. 3. Get oiled-up and wrestle with the big homies. And that was only day one... By day ten, I got a cheek tattoo that said, "Tough guy here!" Now, I'm in my late 30's hanging around the lil homies, so I can feel young. They look up to me. I'm O.G. Gobblesacks!

Wonder if anyone knows...say a gang banger has a son hes automatically accepted right? What if the son doesnt want to be in a gang is that ok? And also if he does but then wants to leave or doesnt do something they tell him what happens? Cus surely his father wouldnt let the homies go to work on his own son? Lastly lol what if he doesnt join at all but has beef with someone? Would he be able to call on his dads homies to kill someone etc??
