Great fight of contrasting styles. Malignaggi is an extremely quick and accurate boxer. Cotto has tremendous technique with killer instincts. Paulie was definitey hurt by Miguel but I wouldn't describe the fight as a destruction.

Im sorry, but your comments are idiotic and tell me that you have either watched nothing but a few choice highlights of this fight, or you dont know anything about boxing. Paulie did very little moving around and instead stood on the inside and fought the entire night toe to toe with a broken jaw and cut eye against the most dominant force in boxing at that time. He did all of this while armed with a .22 against an opponent with a .357. Not only did he survive the fight, but if you actually score rounds instead of perception, Paulie made it extremely close, Cotto only getting the edge due to the 1st 2 rounds. Not giving Paulie respect for this performance tells me you have never gone anywhere close to a ring and have no idea what boxing is all about.

Paulie just didnt survive, he actually made this fight close if your being honest and scoring clean punches. He did all of this against the most dominant fighter in boxing at that time, with a broken jaw and bad cut. He stood toe to toe while at major power disadvantage and traded blow for blow, round after round, and won at least 4 rounds on the low end. After watching this fight 100 plus times and scoring the fight purely from a punch for punch standpoint, I actually now see it 6 rounds each with Cotto only winning due to extra point for the knockdown. If you could find punch stats fir this fight I bet Paulie threw and landed more punches.

Early on, it didn't look like Paulie would survive. But he hung around, and Cotto started to fade and Paulie actually made a fight out of it. It ended up being a very close fight. This was Cottos last fight at 140, he was massive at 140.
