is this immune to tree branches and brush? or do we have to use 550 cord to create a guyline for the branches and brush to go over the snorkel so as to prevent said brush and limbs from ripping...said snorkel?..lol

I have a 2020 army green Tacoma pro but did not come with the desert intake. Can you purchase the desert intake at a dealership and does it come with a template to help you know where to cut?

@@MythicalDust considering I have one on my truck, and I've put my truck through some water crossings to include one where I got stuck and the factory intake would have been under water, I can't attest that if installed correctly, yes it does function well as a true snorkel. And my air filter was completely dry when I finally got out of the hole and checked it. However, I do believe ARB states that while it may assist with water crossings it is not intended to be an underwater breathing device for your vehicle's engine. And they don't imply or recommend it to be used as such. It's primary intent is to provide cleaner cooler air to your engine primarily by relocating the intake higher than most dust and sand particles are kicked up. I can definitely say that after fitting larger tires and therefore having to remove my fender liners which protected the factory intake on the Tacoma, the ARB snorkel keeps the air filter so much cleaner. Night and day difference. I used to have to replace my air filter after every time I played in the dirt, now I hardly notice any additional particulate trapped in the filter after a good hardy dirt session.
