Derrick today I installed a new 500 gram or 1.11 Lb shift knob.. I found on Amazon for 30 bucks its similar to the Raceseng Ashiko weighted shift knob... Dude between doing two fluid gear oil changes with Redline 70wx75w full synthetic gear oil and The new torque solution bushings and new Mtec shifter spring and Trd short throw shifter all installed now ...Wow it shifts like Butter...... Very nice. What's the link so I can see what you got? Also, no issues with the large diameter reverse lockout sliding up into it?

@@VampyreX13 no issues except you have to put 4 flat washers over the plastic washer holding in the spring .... Also its steel no engraving so yes it gets cold but for 30 bucks verses the 180 dollar Ashiko heavy weight knob... that would also get cold or hot... How do I forward to you the you tube video of that 30 dollar 500 gram weighted shift knob....????

Today I braved the Cold temperatures at 24 degrees Farenheit and I installed the TRD short throw shifter official Toyota part had to wait 1 week to get it in the mail and it even came with full color step by step instructions... I had already installed the Torque solutions cable bushings and The Mtec Shifter spring but it wasn't until all three together working in unison Wow what a difference ....!!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge of the mods you've done on your Scion tc.. Looking forward to another video ...peace

And here I am in 34 degree weather waiting for it to be warmer to do a review on a floor jack. LOL. But yes, once you add all the parts together, it makes a nice difference with the shifts. I'm really glad it worked out for you!

Bought the TRD shifter for my '15 TC and the same part broke on mine during installation. Had to rig it to get home.

I was beginning to think I was the only person to have that happened to. Mine broke just before I went through the tunnels close to my house. I'm glad I was able to get it rigged back together enough to make it through the tunnels and back home. I hope my fix worked out for you.

Did you notice a difference in weight or performance when you switched from the stock shift knob to the PT37A-21111 model? Would love to get accessories from a car guys garage but communication is non existent from his end. Just looking for some help for my tC as there are limited resources.

It made shifting a little smoother with the extra weight. ACGG makes good stuff, so it's unfortunate you can't reach him. Raceseng also makes compatible knobs, which is what I have on mine.

Quick question please what does the Mtec spring do to the shifts going into gear ??? I'm considering doing this and the bushing upgrade.... curious as to what these will do as my 2012 scion tc 6sp manual is all factory with 118,500 miles on it ... today is January 3, 2023 .. Happy New Year ....

I don't remember what it felt like before, but I do recall that it made shifting into gear smoother and easier. It's such an easy mod to do.

@@VampyreX13 I just installed the torque solutions shifter bushings and today I'm installing the mtec shifter spring and my Trd short throw shifter is on the way , im going to work clamp the one end to be safe ...

That is the DC Sports strut bar and I'm very happy with it. It's thick steel and a single piece.

That looks basically like the same thing. I bought many things from that company in the past when I turboed by 2001 Corolla. I would say go ahead and pull the trigger and get it. I'll add that link to this video.

That is actually the 340g weighted tC knob ( amzn.to/2ZcqRNy) that I wrapped with 3D carbon fiber vinyl.

Thanks for the reply, I haven't notice that you wrapped the knob, nice idea, it look great but forget the knob, I'm talking about the other thing that it is in carbon too at the bottom of the shift bag, do I make myself understandable?(it's difficult when you don't know the proper names of things lol)

Josh oh, the bezel ring trim. I actually knew what you were referring to but my brain went elsewhere when typing the reply. I just popped the stock bezel off and wrapped that as well. You can watch my Redline Goods shift boot install video to see how to take that ring out.

Any way to reduce the rattling of the reverse ring when shifting gears? The sound is present in this video too and I find it quite annoying. Makes the shifter feel cheap. Thinking a piece of electrical tape between the reverse ring and the metal shifter pole could mute it a bit/reduce the amount of rattling? Thanks

That is exactly what I have done with my reverse lockout ring; a small piece of electrical tape around the shaft.

Just use thin electrical tape so you can get the right thickness when wrapping. You'll also want to use some grease so the reverese lockout can move freely without getting stuck.

Random question: I noticed you have rubber floor mats in your car. Do you find that the rubber makes it harder for your clutch foot to move in and out? I want to get rubber Mats but don’t want any squeaking. Thanks!

I have zero issues with the OEM floor mats and the clutch pedal.

Hand tight. No actual torque specs listed. Just remember, it's aluminum your screwing into, so don't overdo it.

@@VampyreX13 thanks, but the closest I had to angled pliers was a pair of massive channel locks. I ended up using two flat head screwdrivers, one for leverage and the other to twist and force the clip up enough to pull out by hand

Use a flathead screwdriver to pry it up enough that you can pull it right off.

@@VampyreX13 alright, it was a pain because of some corosion but after a generous amount of wd 40, I used channel lock pliers to pull and twist radially around the cable and it it rotated until it just pulled off.

Does this Fit the Corolla iM?

I only see the 2011-2016 Scion tC as compatible with part number PTR54-21100. Other companies such as TWM make a short shifter for the Corolla iM. www.twmperformance.com/scion-im-2016-plus-short-shifter.

The actual short shifter for the 11-16 tc will fit the iM/ Corolla 14+. Look up Fidanza 891135 shifters.
