We moved to France a year ago, learning French to a point where I can have a conversation with the French people in my village has become my number 1 priority. Your videoes are invaluable. I have just purchased 2 of your books on Amazon as you deserve all the success. Keep up the good work. A bientôt.

JUST the video I needed for my next lesson today! I assigned your other videos on PC to my student and just assigned PC with auxiliary Avoir and Etre for homework last week so the timing is perfect! I was going to assign your video: French Listening Practice | 50 Common French Sentences with the PASSÉ COMPOSÉ and your Short Story video: Une soirée au restaurant for homework to her today because this short story contains PC verbs so I will add this video to her homework. Merci!

Great video as always! But I have a question regarding your example for retourner with être: the subject “on” is third person singular but you put an s on the end of the participle as you would to agree with the plural? Is this because in this use of the singular “on” you’re actually referring to more than one person?
@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane20 күн бұрын
If on refers to plural, which it usually does, then you add s or es at the end :)

I have not viewed this video yet. But I will guess. Use "Je suis descendu " as descending is movement. Now, I'll view the video. No fear of being wrong. I make mistakes all the time. Thank you for your work on KZbin. We learners need help.

J'm'ai pendu par les pieds C'est le plus bizarre que j'ai fait Descendu l'escalier Quatre à quatre pour te retrouver C'est vrai This beginning to Alizée & Mylène Farmer song Toc de Mac. It uses Descendu, le participe passé, dropping the subject pronoun and the auxiliary verb. ( I ) descended... ?

This the same as the nouns that can be both feminin and masculin but have different meanings (e.g., la mort, le mort). Both elegant and frustrating.

Passé composé....Why not just say the past tense?
@tafa9097Ай бұрын
Simple past tense in my view is at present considered a literary tense in French.Even in English there are other past tenses like Plu perfect.For example forgot and had forgotten. Merci
