Yo, this is so awesome! I didn’t know anything about this man until about three weeks ago. The funny part is I was watching a bunch of F1 videos and the auto play feature pulled up an Efren video. I’ve been hooked on watching all the videos I can on this man. I’ll never be able to watch them all, but I’m enjoying the ones I have watched.

3 cushion billiard is 100x harder than pockets. You can be a decent player in pocket billiard but 3 cushion is a whole lot harder. Meaning a 3 cushion player that never play 8 ball before can automatically play well in 8 ball pocket billiard and do well in it but a 8 ball billiard player can't really play 3 cushion billiard at all, they will struggle really badly at it at the beginning A 3 cushion billiard champion has a chance to become a 8 or 9 ball pocket billiard but vice versa the opposite the pocket player can't really be a master champion in 3 cushion billard. America only knows about 9 ball or 8 ball lol if you know about 3 cushion then you know all the angels . What i can say is a decent amateur 3 cushion billiard player can 90% beat any amateur's 8 ball pocket player.

100% Accurate. I began playing around 1983 when I was in middle school. There were a few small time pool rooms in the NJ city I grew up in just a few minutes drive from both Manhattan and Staten Island. The pool hall I came up in was for "Pool Players" not for "People who played pool" They didn't care that I was barely a teenager they showed no mercy on me and took my money just the same. I spent alot of money and paid alot of table time however the knowledge and experience I gained was priceless and by 16 I was winning, ALOT, in tournaments as well money games. Straight pool, 3 ball, 8 ball, 9 ball and even 1 pocket. That's when the old school local legends decided to take me under their wings and taught me how to play 3 ball 3 cushion Billiards, the hardest game of all. Object ball then 3 rails then third object ball. Or 3 rails then object object. They didn't play simple carom. Well my pocket game went from a 7 ball handicap B player to a scratch handicap player in 1 year and I went on to win the World Open Straight Pool tournament in the Jr division at 17. My winning run was 93 balls. I played professionally on the NE coast for 2 years before quitting to join the Army and go to college. I was fortunate enough to meet Efren Reyes and witness his greatness in person on the circuit as well as my home pool room. All the champions came there to play. Steve Mizerak, Allen Hopkins, Ray Martin, Sammy Jones, Mike Sigel and womens champions Jeanne Balukis and Lori Jon Jones to name a few. The Golden Age of pool when every pool room had at least 1 champion and 1 Billiard table

I have been a fan and watched Efren for over 30 years and they aren't exaggerating when they call him the GOAT. The part where you commented about his opponent clapping for him is more telling than you realize. The opponent was Earl Strickland, many consider him to be the best ever at 9ball while Efren is the best ever overall (personal opinion, many hate Earl). Earl has a reputation for yelling at fans when they clap for him if he lucked a ball in because they don't know the game, so him clapping for Efren's shot means far more than just a random fan. Earl doesn't clapping for or respect many people, but he does respect Efren. Him clapping for that shot would be the equivalent of Trump clapping for Biden. That's the magnitude of that shot, it was so good even Earl had to applaud.

Efren actually played Carom because billiards players and tournaments do not want to play him anymore. after a few years, after conquering carom, the same thing happened. Carome players and tournaments want to play with him anymore too, so he then came back to billiards and made it on top again.

When you mastered 3 cushion Ballard you know all the angles. Doing bank shots and kick-shot is easy for them. A 8 ball pocket player can never beat a 3 cushion billiards player if they were playing 3 cushion pocketless table but if its the other way around a 3 cushion billard player has a chance to become a 8 ball billard champion that is how hard 3 cushion billiards is. Only america plays 8 or 9 ball billard while the rest if the world plays 3 cushion, snooker and carom billard which is much much harder than the simple game 8 ball
