Mayweather vs pacquiao was such a bummer tho. everyone was waiting for their fight for years, manny was looking forward and was very open about it but mayweather was liptight. idk if he's scared or what but i guess that's understandable. he only accepted the fight when manny was way past his prime, not as fast and as strong as he used to be. mayweather's style is very defensive, likes to clinch and get away and i think that's why a lot of people was dissapointed about it because they've been waiting to see the match and what they saw wasn't as exciting and as full of action as they expected it to be, they want boxers to box and exchange punches but instead they got many dead airs, ref pulling them apart a lot of times, floyd moving away then manny chasing him. manny wants to engage and give people a show but mayweather likes to avoid clashes which earned him a nickname "chicken" as they say he likes to run around. When mayweather was sure he got more punches in he really started avoiding clashes. I mean clinching is part of the game, and being defensive is a strategy so everything's good. i guess everybody just wants a full on fight to really see who's better which is why the match is still a controversy even after the fight. A lot of people do not accept manny lost and do not accept that floyd won. whatever it is both played fair based on boxing rules, it's just based on how people see each athlete.

40:28 What people forget about this fight is that Marquez was experiencing the worst beating of his life. The fight wasn't close, unlike their first 3 fights. It was one of the greatest comebacks in boxing history. Marquez was losing the rounds badly before he KO'd Pacquiao. You can see in both fighter's faces the whole story of the fight. Pacquiao looked clean while Marquez was badly beaten.

When I was a little kid in the Philippines, I used to see those men that hang around the street corner and drink all day long and neglected their family . I was very young, I was told that they do crazy things and they would kill dogs and cook them and eat them. It used to happen long ago. I’m 76 years old now. God is good and every way. In The Philippines back then those who eat dogs are not actually hungry but the reason is they prepare and eat dog when drinking hard liquor. Dog meat is considered a delicacy during the 80's and down. But that practice is already outlawed and anyone caught butchering and eating dog will end up in prison with a cash fine with it.

I enjoyed this reaction, never seen you both too excited LOL i love boxing so i can relate. I just wish Mayweather fought Manny after that fight with Cotto or Hatton, that would have been the epic match, both in their prime. Maybe we will never see another Manny, i love that era, his fights are always on Sundays here, people go to church in the morning and then after everyone's gone home it's just quiet, rarely see people or vehicles outside. Then after the fight specially if he won which is most of the time, you can feel the joy, everyone was just talking about it, i love it, best memories.

The part where his dad allegedly "killed and ate his dog." wasn't exactly the deciding factor for him to go to Manila in my opinion, (which is very far away from where he was born, just so you know), I think I saw an old interview from Pac where he mentioned being offered a job as a construction worker in Manila and he used it as an opportunity to go there because Manila is actually 'the land of opportunities' for us Filipinos. So I really think the dog story was a little exaggerated for shock value lol. But it's also not impossible to believe because some Filipinos do eat dog meat.

Manny Pacquiao's dad ate the dog because in the Philippines it's a snack while drinking, they said good partner with cold beer because dog meat makes you feel hot inside, but that's in the 80s, nobody in the Philippines ate dog anymore 🍺
