Thanks for that explanation, it's helpful to know that you weren't paid by anyone to make this video. And I also think it's pretty crazy that you tested over 70 treadmills last year!

Is it true that with nordic track you have to pay monthly subscription to ifit to be able to use 3rd party apps like Netflix while Sole you have no other costs other than standard subscriptions?
@TreadmillReviewGuru
@TreadmillReviewGuru 16 күн бұрын
Yes, NordicTrack requires a monthly iFIT subscription to access third-party apps. Sole does not!

Thanks for the great video. I'm still a little torn between the NordicTrack X24 (I really like the massive incline) and the Assault Pro. If I'm looking for the most intense workout, which one of those do you recommend?
@TreadmillReviewGuru
@TreadmillReviewGuru 11 күн бұрын
They are both very challenging machines but deliver very different experiences. The NordicTrack X24 feels easier than the AssaultRunner Pro when not inclined but harder when it's at a steep incline. The Pro is better for sprint workouts and rucking. The X24 is definitely better for incline training and long distance running. The X24 is best when you have an iFIT subscription unless you are okay with just training in manual mode, but I would go with the X16 in that case. The Pro is best if you want onboard workouts, don't want to connect to Wi-Fi, and don't want a subscription.

Nordic track reviews and customer service are horrible. I wanted one but the reviews are just that bad. It doesn't matter where you look, the reviews. Also, i do appreciate the hard work that it takes to make this video.

We didn't have sponsors for this video. We do personally like NordicTrack treadmills, as you obviously noticed - especially for the average runner who appreciates a nice, cushioned deck. However, we are affiliates with all of the brands featured, and have no additional financial incentive to recommend NordicTrack over any other brand. Each brand featured here is one that we personally like and recommend to our own friends and family. Most brands of fitness equipment don’t have the best brand reviews online, they are all very similar regardless of brand. The reason for this is most consumers who have a good experience and zero issues with a product are not going online to leave positive reviews, those reviews are generally made up of the outliers, which is very challenging for consumers to see and read. We have been reviewing treadmills for over 10 years and have worked with Horizon, Sole, NordicTrack, Peloton, Assault Fitness, Bowflex, Echelon, Matrix, TrueForm, LifeSpan, Freemotion, WalkingPad, etc… And though we have had a few issues during that time, we haven’t had an issue with any machine that couldn’t be resolved.

From my research, sole and horizon are the only treadmills they are fully functional without a subscription.

Landice, True, Matrix, and 3G Fitness are all higher end treadmill brands that do not require a subscription to function. Most of these fitness equipment review channels only review the more budget friendly brands like Sole and Horizon.

Thanks for your comment. When the iFIT and Peloton subscriptions originally came out, we thought the exact same thing! However, in the past few years, our data shows that 50% to 60% of consumers do want the paid programming that comes with treadmills. We even have to admit that it sucked us in as well (we actually pay for the subscriptions to both, plus some others to fully test them out). Some brands have gone very heavy with the subscription programming they offer or require in order to use their machines while others have no programming subscriptions. Each consumer is going to be looking for different features, functionality, and programming options which is why our best treadmills list has the top machines (based on our testing and use of all these machines) in each of the categories we listed. Our goal is to help people understand the different options available so that it is much easier to find the type of treadmill that fits their needs specifically.

@@TreadmillReviewGuru I agree. I had a True M50, and the horizon 7.8 and used my own tablet. Now I have a NordicTrack x22i and I love the subscription programming. I use the subscription off the treadmill too, for weight training and HIIT. I was able to give up my gym and workout at home. I would have gone to outside classes for this anyway. Its up to each person how much they want to spend on fitness. For my health, its worth it. I have had no problem with customer service. During the pandemic I heard it was terrible. The problems I have had , were easily fixed with resets of hardware and software. I had problems with the True belt and horizon had to come twice, within 3 months for the speed and incline increasing out of nowhere and iscaring me. The true M50 has high ratings, but so barebones it was a ripoff for the price, and no cushioning.

@rstroud2623 We were not paid any money by NordicTrack or any other brand to create this video or for inclusion on the list or for a specific position on the list. We don’t discuss any of these things with any brands and maintain 100% editorial control of the content we create. Our Best Awards this year and the treadmills on our list are our top picks based on testing 70+ different treadmills from over 20 different brands. Yes, we are affiliates for all the brands that we review, we have always been upfront about that. It also doesn’t make any difference to us if someone buys a machine from Bowflex, Sole, Peloton, NordicTrack, Assault Fitness, etc… because we earn commissions from any of them. Our Best Lists have always been focused on giving awards and praise to the machines that provide the best feel, comfort, functionality, and quality across a variety of price points so that regardless of a consumer's need and budget, they can find the best treadmill for them.

It's too bad the reviews are based pretty much only on features and prices, and don't touch on the likelihood of ending up with a very expensive, very large, paperweight when some of them break after a couple years and you then start the journey of horrible warranty service, where the techs show up and tell you that you should have never bought this/that brand treadmill.... Dropping thousands for a Nordictrack brand treadmill with a proprietary screen etc? lol no thanks.

Thanks for your comment; we do want to clarify a few things. NordicTrack does not (and no other treadmill brands we review) pay us to review their treadmills. No brand has any say or control over what we report back in our reviews, best videos, and other content. We maintain 100% editorial control over all the content we write and film. The order of products on best lists and best videos are all chosen by us. If you notice in our 2025 video, which it sounds like you watched all of it, we have “best awards” for each machine. One of our top goals is to help consumers learn more about products while they are trying to make their buying decisions. Yes, we earn commissions if someone uses our links before making a purchase. Our hope would be that we do a good job of helping consumers navigate all the options on the market available to them, and if they do appreciate our testing, feedback, and comparisons of all the treadmills that they use our links when making a purchase. It actually doesn’t matter to us what treadmill someone decides to buy as we earn a commission regardless of what brand and model someone chooses to buy. As long as we are helping people find the right treadmill for their needs and budget that has the functionality and feel they are looking for, we feel we have done our job. We don’t know of any other treadmill review team in the world that actually physically tests and reviews as many machines as we do. We currently have 55 treadmills in our gym from numerous brands that are all current models for sale that we have tested or reviewed already, or we are in the process of testing and reviewing.
