Yedam did write the Korean rap. He actually started out interested in being a rapper, but over time got more into singing. I believe the choose the song they want to do. Then they have to go through evaluations performing the song before final approval and filming.

he didn't start to be a rapper, he loves singing at the age of 5 recording for a show, and at the age of 8/9 recorded for lotte world and did street busking. He show interest in rapping at 12 (K-pop star) he auditioned singing but as the show progressed, he also tried to do his rap to add more into what his singing that's when his "boa noona" became popular

You should listen to a demo Junkyu recorded for one of the YG senior groups called ‘1 of 112 (I’m Sorry). God Yedam can definitely play the piano. He writes and produces his own songs too. Yedam plays the piano as he produces songs too. At least half the group produces songs and clips of their self-produced songs are shown in different TMAP episodes (hope you get the chance to watch them and you'd know they are Variety kings!) They composed songs too. Jeongwoo is learning the guitar and Doyoung plays the piano. All of them have multiple talents, not just singing. Thank you for reacting to their covers. Treasure members more easy to recognize them by voice actually, they have difference tone. And yes, jeongwoo such a singer that soooo amazing with ballad/ soulful song, he just sounds amazing even before being trained. As for yedam, rapper yedam just seen in pre debut days, he often upload some of his self-produced songs that has rap in it (you can check on youtube, many fans already re-upload it after his account deleted by agency), he such a good rapper since kpopstar days (korean survival show).

Most of treasure member's really know how to play piano and yes that includes yedam. These cover's are all during their pre debut days to keep the hype and in preparation as well before their debut. I think they are given songs that really suit their voices and will showcase their vocals. Same with the dance line, they have several covers as well that will show their dancing skills. Jeongwoo and Haruto are my biases in Treasure since YGTB (their survival show). I can't wait for the day that they will release their collab album. Yedam, Junkyu, and Jeongwoo knowns as "Vocal Trinity" as they're so good as singing, controlling the vocal tone, especially after their cover/perfomance in YG Treasure Box eps 10, of Last Dance by Bigbang, they're emotional and cried during the performance, as well as the audience. For Yedam, Jihoon, Jeongwoo cover you can watch "Can't Take My Eyes of You" Or maybe WAYO (Yedam Jeongwoo Junkyu Jihoon Mashiho) too... Yedam started out joining YG to be focus on his rapping as he's interested in it, but over the years they focused for his singing more, but he could do both so well. Also haruto is their youngest song writer he writes his own rap lines Currently I think Haruto is the youngest artist to be credited in a full album in kpop. Yedam, Asahi, Hyunsuk, Junkyu, Yoshi and Haruto are currently one of the producers of yg. Jaehyuk also became a producer he also have his own self produced song and it was sang by Jeongwoo

So these covers were a way to promote themselves (chosen by themselves treasure) before debut and some bang yedam songs and covers were publish on soundcloud by yedam himself ... You see treasure was made in survival show called " yg treasure box" in 2018-2019 but the company faced huge controversies so treasure disapeared and their debut got post poned so they started being active at the beginning of 2020 and started promoting themselves on their channel to gain fans by doing covers dance choreos .. .vlogs treasure map .. vlives and stuff ... before i knew treasure i was actually already familiar with yedam (even way before i became i kpop fan). He's made a name as kid during kpop star and i mostly know him bc of his covers of justin bieber songs during the show. Ive always loved justin bieber's voice, i listen to his music quite a lot and i especially love his christmas album but after knowing treasure and yedam, it has been a great dilemma for me which one i love more. As for Haruto and Jeongwoo, both of them are 2004 liners. During YGTB, the survival shows that formed treasure, they choose each other to form a unit and win the battle. And Stack it up is their pre-debut cover. As you say, both of them have very different tones but it's amazing when they sing together. They complement each other so well. It's like every main vocal need the main rapper. If you react to yet, you will know why fans are very proud to see them sing together. They are also best friends. Also, Haruto x Jeongwoo is the most anticipated subunit in Treasure.

about what you said in 13:26, all of these song covers and dance covers including Going Crazy are from pre-debut. This was when YG is re-introducing them because they were supposed to debut in 2019 after the survival show, YG Treasure Box, ended. But in 2019, YG Ent. faced a lot of issues and their debut was cancelled for almost 2 years. That's why in the beginning of 2020 YG released a teaser for their own reality show, Treasure Map, also a way to re-introduce them in the public. I would recommend watching YG Treasure Box too if you really want to know how TREASURE was formed. The track Going Crazy was their signal song in the survival show. Also, the covers you watched here are like covers for the three main vocalists kinda thing(?) and the dance line also have some dance covers.

And regarding the song they choose to cover, it seems like they have the freedom to choose artists and songs and then the company has the final decision (because they've been recommending some of those artists before and are known as big fans) + their vocal coaches probably help them find songs that suits them the most.

As these were covers that were posted before their debut, they added their age so that people would know how old they were as well as their name. - Yedam, indeed, wrote the Korean lyrics of his cover of 'Honesty'. If you didn't know, TREASURE are a group that wrire, compose and produce their own song. Every song that they've releasd, they've been involded in either the writing, composing or producing proces of it. The only song that wasn't written by them is 'Going Crazy', as this song was their signal song in 'YG TREASURE BOX', a survival reality show that produced them. It was giving during the show and it was the signal song of the show and it was finally given to the debuted group, which is now TREASURE. - these covers were made by the members to show off their talent, as they didn't have debuted at that time that these covers were released. When the members talked about these covers they've always said how they loved the songs, that they've decided to cover, or the artist and that's why they've decided to cover the particular song. But of course, the company has also something to say about it so they might have suggested to do the given song and they've agreed. The company always give them the song that suit their style, vocal wise. - Yedam can play the piano, as well as the guitar. The other members also play other instruments; guitar, piano, drums... The cover of Mistletoe by Yedam was not released with a video, so it's not sure if he was the one who played the piano or not. But it could be as he can play it!
