A shovel can only be crafted from a Smithy now. The higher the Treasure Hunter skill, the higher the chance is. Best at 3/3. Not worth it if 1/3 or 2/3. In my test. Cause the higher the chance, the more often a treasure we should be getting. Pro: Get Skill and Tech Point. While digging. Needed for making clay items. Con: Thinking too much, or too lazy (cause too heavy), or not worth it, or why bother, or skill and tech already max.

Even the horseshoe seemed pretty meh for EVERY NODE ON THE MAP! Didn't think it'd be THAT bad! OP, it is % based, so it would scale according to how many pts you put.

After last update I have 15 skill points in each of of my skills. Seems like it's worth it to keep points in knowledge.

I was noticing I had 12 points in excavation when I was doing my testing too. They must have raised the cap.

@@HecticNasari they did. Kept wondering why my skills all had asterisks. Finally went to my wife and reset all my skills. Put 10 points into each but still had asterisks. Was very confused until I figured out I could add more.

Never found anything of real value digging for clay. I do however use the extra extraction of clay perk since I do use large amounts of it for making wine/beer/mead bottles to bottle all the gifts of my orchards. I however find it easier to overladen myself and just ride the horse since it has no effect on horse speed if you max out your carrying capacity.

The extra resource skill is really helpful in that fashion, I'm just starting to get into the orchards so the clay items are going to be needed soon. So I will see how my villagers do with that. I'll probably end up doing the same as you though. I do feel that the Treasure Hunter skill needs a bit of reworking on the drop rate or even the item pool. I feel the items I got during my test would be good for the 1/3 in treasure hunter. I should have tested the different point levels too. Maybe if the devs announce in a future update that they tweaked the skill, I'll do a follow-up video and test the different point levels of it. Thanks for watching and leaving your comment.

@@HecticNasari just did bother clay run with 2/3 Treasure hunting perk on. Dug up all clay south east of Gostovia and got only 0.2 Coin, and a wooden shovel by digging around Sambors hunting camp. Thats it, pretty sad. Needless to say I reset my skills and got rid of treasure hunting skills altogether.

Yes, when you take the Treasure skill you have a chance at getting extra treasure from digging up clay.
