It's surreal to think someone watches my stuff that's decently close! Any more nerd stores in the area? I'll definitely go back and hit them up!

@@AshQuest They're working on bulding a larger Miniature Market in Manchester Slackers CDs and Games is a local franchise of nerd stores, although it's more like a small V-Stock. Still fun. 2 Plumbers is a arcade bar in St Charles that has arcade cabinets, craft beer and table space for games. They even have a shelf of board games! Fantasy Shop St. Charles has comics, board games, miniatures and paints. They're the only place I've been that stocks Reaper in the St. Louis area Hero Complex is a superhero themed arcade/store/experience that just opened in St. Peters, and they're already expanding to a much larger building to meet demand. Bit more of a family thing, but they also sell very high end action figures I've never seen anywhere else. And the St. Louis Renaissance Faire is huge out here. It's out on the Wentzville Fairgrounds and they actually set it up in the woods, so it really hits that fantasy vibe. The last few years I've gone there's been a booth or two telling minis and dice.

I don't normally enjoy window shopping or IRL content as mich as studio or "talking hands perspective videos. But I have to say. Between the quips and narrating as if its whats going through your mind at the time really pulled me in. 👍

Fantasy Shop in St Charles used to have a whole display of metal Reaper figs, but I think I was the only one buying them. It's a shame. Metal feels so nice in the hand, and it's always fun to see the shock on people's faces when the little guys I paint weigh as much as a bullet

I bought a ton when they started phasing them out, they had big discounts going.

Gosh wish we had stores like that here. But never heard of battle tech boardgame? There was one when i was a teenager and played it then ( not so long ago 😅🤥) and was happy they started it again got the big basic box ( a game of armered combat) and wont get any expansions i think because even do its super fun its so complicated dont need more complication. I love the “ scotty i need more power” feeling you get when managing your energy to power your mech

VStock is honestly one of the few things keeping the Midrivers Mall open. That and I-70. I'm surprised they don't use that empty upper part for a coffee shop or something

Hey, I’m a Missouri guy myself, looking at the comments it seems like there’s a few of us in here, I didn’t realize HQ had a following in this region.
@joevonseelen74162 ай бұрын
That being said, if anybody around is St Louis/St Peters or St Louis/St Peters adjacent, say hey, I’d love to find some fellow HQ fans in the area

Ive seen a battle tech starter at Target. The mimic case has tempted me a few times when Ive seen it despite being pricey. The Masters of the Universe Castle Greyskull is a must see. For box art, there definitely tends to be a given aesthetic for certain themes or game styles to work at catching my eye. Maybe for your box, have one end be readable horizontally for if the game is put down to have a stack, and one side horizontally if the game is on its side. That would be really flexible for retailers and the end consumer for their storage options. I find that a lot of games with the more realistic look target adults and have more complex rules, with the inverse targeting kids. So I think game complexity should be considered when thinking about box appeal or overall aesthetic. And as Monolpoly has aptly shown, certain types of games can be reskinned to target a different demographic. I know Betrayal at House on the Hill has a scooby doo version, not sure how much different it is mechanically from the normal one though. Final Girl looks really good but I wish it had a multiplayer option- its what holds me back from getting it. Added that Book of Adventure Games to my list just off of that glance at the contents. I want to try out a virtual pinball table with the feedback features. The he man castle was snake mountain I think. I keep an eye out for the dnd choose your own adventure books, I've got a good chunk from my childhood. Mall prices are definitely high. I talked to one of the owners of a local arcade before they moved their location, I think the new location was going to be at a better price and more space by comparison due to the mall rental being so high.

From a nerd store perspective the problem with Reaper Bones is the Kickstarter. Even if you are an avid painter after 2 or 3 kickstarters you have so many bones piled up that you aren't about to go buy a blister pack if you want to stay married. I suspect that's why they don't move. People who want them bought in via kickstarter.
@AshQuest2 ай бұрын
It makes me sad, is eriously bought a ton of blisters when I saw them and never knew they were even KS products!
