My first job at a steakhouse had a secret seasoning. It was 50% sea salt, 25% granulated roasted garlic and 25% ground black pepper in a simple metal shaker. It works perfectly for fish if you are looking to expand your cooking kit. It goes on anything. Cheers!

Have watched all of your vids. From the first big adventure and all. You are both so likeable. And it’s also great to see Fran evolve over the episodes. She used to be pretty quiet, and in one early vid, I recall her saying “I don’t wanna talk…they won’t like my accent” , or words to that effect. Now Fran is a completely equal contributor with info and her confidence of camera is evident. Great work you two. Big fan here. Keep these vids coming. Rob, Koonya, Tasmania

Also in the uk our recycled waste which we collect in individual bins are shipped abroad bar 10% to be incinerated or go to landfill in some third world country just so we can tick a box to say we`re doing our bit to save the planet, as the Russians say " a fish rots from the head down"

Hey guys love your vids . The way to cook in under ground oven its called Lovo in Fiji is to dig a pit light a fire then put the rocks on the fire to heat the rocks ones the fire turns to coal and rock is hot you then put the fish that is wrapped in banana leaves coconut cream and lemon also goes good with the fish . As soon as you put the fish in you have to start covering the pit 1st with green leaves, banana leaves are the best as it gives good flavour then cover with soil or in your case sand until you don't see any smoke excape usually it will cook roughly same time as oven would but the end result is yummy and Amazing , hope you try it enjoy and stay safe 🙂

This is the way I saw them cook on the beach in Okinawa while I was stationed there in 1970. Build a fire in a sand pit and when it burns down to coals, cover it with about an inch of sand or pebbles, lay the fish wrapped in banana or palm fronds, cover with an inch of sand and build a fire on top. When the top fire dies down to coals, scrap them away and remove the fish.

I really enjoy your channel ...... for future adventures with open fire zero cutlery you might want to consider a couple of bush craft levelling up options ..... surrounded by coconuts weave simple basket/wrap to cook fish/food in coals or ground oven style, you can make a pretty easy set of tongs from a split mid vein of palm frond or green branch ( just rough bind end, jam rock or stick to wedge open tongs and rough bind just in front of the wedge) this makes a springy pair of tongs that you can manipulate food, coals, rocks in a fire without getting burnt. You can also whittle some chop sticks which also make eating hot food a little easier.
