John Bartholomew Tucker had the perfect easy, sunshiney style for this show. I remember him on NBC Monitor radio and doing voice overs for a few commercials but this is the first time I’d seen him in this capacity.

I was in 6th grade in Michigan at the time, & I'd hurry home during my lunch hour to watch this truly unique & wonderful show. Woody Woodbury had a children's show featuring the son "Feelin' Groovy" that I used to watch. John B. Tucker was the perfect host; extremely likable. I only wish there were more of these shows available.

This show aired from the fall of 1967 (color from Dec 18 '67 on) to the fall of 1968 at 12:30 PM weekdays. Loved it so much! I used to wish I was there around the palm trees and warm weather and wish someone could unearth these in color.

My all-time favorite game show. (I was 11 in 1967.) We had a swimming pool in our back yard and we used to play "Treasure Isle" during the summer. Never knew it was in color -- we did not get a color TV 'til '69.

John Bisci: you’re telling my life story, 11 years old, but I was stuck in the hospital with an infection in my foot! This show was on every morning and made my stay in the hospital a lot of fun. I laughed at the Fab commercial like it was yesterday and Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass was THE hottest band for all the TV game shows, especially The Dating Game! What a gas!

First saw this show in 1966, in elementary school of all places. I even remember the Fab commercial! Our classroom had just gotten a tv set. If we were quiet, the teacher would let us watch it during the last 15 or 20 minutes of the lunch hour. This show was on. I loved the locale and the big puzzle pieces.

"Treasure Isle's" former host John Bartholomew Tucker was also the late Allen Funt's co-host on the very first season of "The All-New Candid Camera Show" on syndicated TV in September of 1974.

I was in kindergarten when this aired, watched it around lunch time. So much fun, I wanted to be there. I remember everything --- especially the later intro where they throw John in the water! I just now watched this and started whistling the tunes (Dating Game music) and the "Treasure Isle in Florida" song. John was a great host, really folksy. Great times! Thanks!

Before this Tucker was working in San Francisco doing a KPIX TV talk show. It was easy to get into the studio audience so I went a couple times with my mom. John was very nice and spent plenty of time chatting with us before and after the show. When Treasure Isle started I was eager to see John on TV once again.

We watched the Colonnades being built while staying there on vacation. We came often to check on my grandfather's property. I was at the opening day recording for Treasure Isle. I don't know why I really really thought Bert Convy was present at the filming of the show I went to.

King of Prussia (also referred to as KOP)[3] is a census-designated place in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 19,936. The community took its name in the 18th century from a local tavern named the King of Prussia Inn, which was named after King Frederick the Great of Prussia. The eponymous King of Prussia Inn was originally constructed as a cottage in 1719 by the Welsh Quakers William and Janet Rees, founders of Reesville. The cottage was converted to an inn in 1769 and did a steady business in colonial times as it was approximately a day's travel by horse from Philadelphia. Settlers headed west to Ohio would sleep at the inn on their first night on the road. In 1774 the Rees family hired James Berry to manage the inn, which henceforth became known as "Berry's Tavern". General George Washington first visited the tavern on Thanksgiving Day in 1777 while the Continental Army was encamped at Whitemarsh; a few weeks later Washington and the army bivouacked at nearby Valley Forge.[4] King of Prussia sign on US 202 Parker's spy map,[5] created by a Tory sympathizer of the Kingdom of Great Britain, listed the inn as "Berry's" in 1777, but a local petition in 1786 identified it as the "King of Prussia". It was possibly renamed in honor of Benjamin Franklin's pro-American satirical essay "An Edict by the King of Prussia".[6] At some point a wooden signboard of the inn depicted King Frederick II (Frederick the Great) of Prussia. The inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. There is no incorporated city of King of Prussia, although the United States Postal Service office there has carried that name since 1837. Its ZIP code is 19406.[11] King of Prussia's boundaries, as defined by the Census Bureau, are the Schuylkill River to the north, U.S. Route 422 to the west, Bridgeport to the east, and I-76 to the south. However, the Greater King of Prussia Area is often cited to include Bridgeport, parts of Wayne and Radnor Township, King Manor, as well as most of Gulph Mills. The local fire department carries the King of Prussia name, whereas the police department and the school district carry the Upper Merion name. King of Prussia is located 20 miles (32 km) northwest of Philadelphia.

My wife and I were on this show in the fall of 1968, we were on our way to the republican convention in Miami and stayed overnight in Palm Beach shores at the Colonnades. we were lucky enough to get on the show while we were there and we won a whole lot of prizes that helped us as newly weds. We too are trying to find the tv film to the show. If anyone knows how to find them please let is know. We are now in our 70's and it's wonderful to see how young everybody was then. Time marches on. OH, by the way one of our bonus prizes was a lot in the Bahamas' located on 'Great Exuma Island. We still have the property. anyone interested in perching it please contact me.

Its entire run was in color. This kinescope was made in black and white, because it was cheaper.

I was on (and won) this show in 1968. This was before video tape, of course, and I never saw the broadcast. I've looked for the film over the years, including at the TV museums, but have not been successful. If you know of any shows available, please do contact me. Regards.

My best guess would be the June area of 1967...I think the earlier shows had two couples and later they fielded three couples competing for the big prizes. My time frame was October of '68. J B Tucker, you might recall, was the TV voice for Kraft products (and I think Hoover vaccuum cleaners) back in the day. The setting for the game show was the Colonnades Beach Hotel in Palm Beach Fl., which I think now is a Marriott.

My mom, Patty Gee, was the blond “contestant helper” on this show. I was only a few years old. We lived in Plantation Florida at the time and she would drive up to Palm Beach to shoot the show. She passed on in 2005. I’ve been searching every year or so to find the episodes. I’m so happy to have found this. Ron, how did you get this recording?

As a youngster, I occasionally watched this show (which was in color, although it appears that this black-and-white kinescope is the only record of this episode that still exists). Interestinbgly enough, the show was owned by the same man who owned the Colonnade Beach Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida (where it was taped). I'm not 100% sure, but I thought there were a couple of times during this show's run where instead of husband/wife teams, there were celebrity/contestant teams (maybe to allow single people to be contestants).

My guess would be that very few episodes can be found. As I understand it, most game-show episides were "wiped" after being aired once or twice to make the tape available for other uses.

Yes, video tape was expensive. Both NBC and CBS recorded over their tapes of the first Super Bowl that same year (not yet officially called the Super Bowl). So no known video of the whole game exists.

Hi! My grandparents were contestants and winners of, I believe, the very last episode of the show, Christmas of 1968. My great-grandfather recorded the audio of the show with a microphone but I have yet to find a video of the episode. Am certain that one of the reasons they did not continue was partly because of the pokies sticking out on the winning couple's wife. Very visible in her white top. Censors were very strict about such thing in those days.

Nowadays, they'd have a hard time trying to find contestants that look decent in a bathing suit or swim trunks. Plus the game was too active. Today they'd need oxygen tanks all around. :D Just think of the lawsuits if someone pulled a muscle or got a scrape.
