Just got into metal detecting. Bought a Nokta Legend and started watching a lot of videos and this has become my favorite channel. My wife and I binge watch all your stuff. Keep them coming!

Thanks for hanging out! That would be sweet, I took interest in that a little bit... I want a light weight beep stick. Kind of like the XP ORX but even more simple.

just a quick tip , freq scan can be done by holding down top right button when the machine is turned on

The heat after a cold front is called Summer Jr...at least according to one of my fav KZbin comedians. ha ha ha My Nox goes nuts if it gets anywhere near SOME vanquish machines. It doesn't do that near my own vanquish but it does it at club hunts. There are two vanquish machines that it reacts to as if they were pulse machines. So weird. That game is called Frisbee Golf. We do a club hunt at a park that has a permanent installation of the baskets and those frisbee golfers are SERIOUS. Holy cow! They get really pissy if you're in their way.

I dug up a class ring on Halloween. A first for me. It rang up like a zinc penny.

Welcome to my world with the clay ish soil. Even after a good series of rain that stuff is crap to dig. Can't wait for my first outing at the beach or Florida sandy soil but not here in Oregon.

Love this vid. I have a Deus 2 and I'm learning it slowly. What other detector would you recommend for a weekend warrior type who wants a great machine but doesn't get into the tech aspects of the Deus?

A lot of good options out there, I've used and had decent success with these... Nokta Legend, Minelab Vanquish 440, Nokta Simplex & Equinox 600.

Maybe the tag is off of an appliance. Appliances used to have those metal tags on them maybe they still do. You know like refrigerators. Thanks for the video.

Gold isn't really a high conductor. It's middle of the road. The 22k ring may have rung up high because the other 2k was silver, or some other high conductor added for strength, or it was large or perhaps just chunky. It's rare but it happens. Sometimes they plate rings with various conductive metals(they have to be conductive for electroplating) to make them scratch resistant as well. I once had a 10k wedding band come in at penny range.......only once in 13 years has it happened but it's possible. That ring had a huge diameter made for a sasquatch however so it made sense.

The Sears and Roebuck co. metal was probably a bike badge they had one called the free spirit. Sears started out as Sears and Roebuck then changed to just Sears.

Enjoyed the video. Thank you for the shout out. Did not expect that at all. Yes, my first day out with the XPD2, found a ring marked, .999 Gold. Acid tested to 22k and it passed no problem. Pure gold rings are rarer here in the USA. However, large Vietnamese population in OKC. Alot of their gold is pure and think they travel to and from there. Moving to FL tommorow. Beach hunting will be back on the menu. Looking forward to that. Did well in the swim lakes out here in OK, but the season is a bit short. The tones that sound clipped are usually iron. Enjoy that park program too. That was the program that found that gold ring. Looking forward to running the XPD2 on the beach. Have very limited use with it in the Salt. How do you find the Salt Sens and what is the setting of it, that is good to train with? Thx in advance. BTW, that mystery metal you found, looks like a rein guide, horse rein. Found something similiar like that on an old homestead, and was told that is what mine was.
@TreasureOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Thanks CZ! Enjoying learning the machine for sure. The beaches are always enjoyable.. I've honestly been trying to run it as hot as I can in the salt while still stable so I usually get away with around 7-8 salt sens.. but it probably depends on the beach. I'm really still new to it but I really like beach sensitive + pitch. I pulled out a pretty dang deep tiny gold ring with those settings. I've gotta get back down a little south of me.. my local spots are kind of dried up. But there's always more out there!

Wet ground in Florida is a lot better. But, a lot of false swings and targets. It might have to with ground balance. I always look forward to it though.

Been testing canadian steel core clad on the D2 in air test, Mono program in 25khz or higher hits stell core clad very nicely In FMF steel core clad is almost silent, even if maximum frequency is at 40khz.. Looks like ill be mostly using deus mono to hunt, maybe ill us FMF for a bit if i want to skip the clad and just go for rings New coil coming out first quarter 2025, high frequency small coil, i think elliptical but im unsure exactly, going to get that too maybe it will like steel core clad in FMF

Frisbee golf is the game. what sensitive do you run your pointer at ?

I'm pretty sure I run it max on the XP. Medium on the garrett. If you have hot soil it might false a little on it with high sensitivity

Ya As I watch you vids I notice you definitely like switching it up. So I’ll toot your horn a bit here. I watch a few other detecting channels and I’m sure you get this a lot but you do a great job. Very informative, you have become comfortable talking to yourself and in turn, ( through your camera) to your audience. Something I am trying to do myself however you seem knowledgeable and if you don’t know something you tell your audience you don’t know and it’s great to watch you figure it out in front of us. Your live streams are great as well. Getting your audience to be interactive by asking or polling them to see what machine you should be using is a great way for people to think they are right there with you. Very entertaining and good work. Cheers
