I know right? I didn't realize how special it was until I did a little bit of research and wow, I am pretty impressed. The movement was very well maintained as I noticed when I wound it up during the video and commented on how nice the keyless felt. Thanks for the comment!

I love those videos, am always looking forward to seeing what 'broken watches' you dig up this time. More of them please! Some interesting watches today, the Nivada is especially interesting. They made or apparently still make high quality and good looking Swiss watches. Would love to see a restoration vid on that one, if you feel like it. Also, if you can, it would be great if you could rotate the footage to full screen. Greetings from Germany 👋

You are right about the Nivada. I did a little research and was blown away by their quality. As I said in the video, the keyless is quite smooth. I did look inside and it was beautiful for the age, and very well maintained. Someone really loved this watch. As for the video being in portrait, I have no idea how that happened since I shoot in landscape. So sorry about that! Thanks for reaching out, I very much appreciate that. 😊

Hey Robert, I just saw this comment and to be honest, no I rarely come across any Russian watches. I will however keep an eye out and keep you in mind if I come across anything. Can you email some information on the watch you need parts for especially pictures and I can see what I can do.

I am very sorry about the portrait mode instead of landscape. I have no idea how that happened since I shot in landscape mode. I will definitely double check next week for the next video.

I will show the movement in the next video. It's simple, but beautifully maintained. BTW, in case you are interested the movement is a 17 jewel even though it isn't mentioned anywhere on the watch.

I am a big fan of automatics, but I haven't had one in many years. Had a nice Seiko JDM automatic when I was stationed there back in '99, but it sadly got misplaced in my return to the states.@@steadyjumps

I like automatics as well. The watch that got me into watches was my brother's Corura which he purchased in 1975. In fact it was the second watch that I restored when I just got into watch making. I still have that watch today, although it could use another cleaning. I have an automatic that I am working on right now, it is an Elgin from the '70s that I found in a bag of watches over two years ago. When I am done, it's yours if you want it.

Hey Mark, not sure if it's just on my end but for some reason your video is in Portrait mode when I"m trying to watch it. Hopefully it's just a bug that can be fixed, but I wanted to let you know so if it's something that isn't just a bug, it can be fixed.

I was shocked when i saw how much those nivada watches are! That was like an 800usd watch!

I was shocked as well. I knew it was something special by the way it wound up and that the date change was at 12:00 sharp. After I shot the video I did some research and was surprised by the price. It isn't the first time that I came across something expensive. My Bulova that came out of a bag of broken watches, MSRP on the Bulova website was $700. USD.
