hello sir,(from hyderabad) Is it okay to add Prefix Dr. before the name of a physiotherapist?? Are physiotherapists doctors or supporting staff under physicians??

Physiotherapists are independent practitioners and can competently assess diagnose and treat a variety of conditions. In the Indian system, since the quality of education is such, most of the Physiotherapists are not getting the required training and competence to prove themselves among the other healthcare practitioners and so are just following the directions of the prescribing doctors. But there are many examples of Physio's in India who have lived up to the reputation of a Physiotherapist. I believe more than a Dr. Prefix, we Physio's must strive for making the patients recover from their ailments. In the end that is what matters.
