The Salvation Army Bell Shelter in Los Angeles, CA, has implemented a new tool to help people get back on their feet: Neurofeedback. An emerging & non-invasive treatment, Neurofeedback (when combined with traditional therapy) helps to treat the effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and substance abuse.
Watch the video to see some of the incredible stories of change happening at the Bell Shelter, and to learn how Neurofeedback works and why it’s been so effective.
The Salvation Army would like to thank Homecoming for Veterans ( www.homecoming4veterans.org/ ) and EEG Info ( www.eeginfo.com/ ) for their generosity in helping establish the neurofeedback clinic at the Bell Shelter.

@@conman20000 If it is, it wouldn’t be beneficial in the long run. My son is now 17 and I gave neurofeedback a try. Today will be his 8th session. He didn’t go willingly so I doubt he has any placebo effect from it and he’s been much calmer and more compliant since receiving treatment.

@@conman20000 No not a placebo effect. I did 30 sessions of Neurofeedback and only started to feel the changes at session 15 so please give it time. It’s been a year for me and it’s changed my life completely. Neurofeedback is the best thing I’ve ever done in my life for my mental health! I wish I did it years ago! I actually want to do more Neurofeedback now just because I love it so much. But it’s been over a year for me and the change in my life is beyond explanation. I would do it all again in a heartbeat and show everyone I know who is suffering this video. Stick with it- it took your brain YEARS to condition itself into this way so give the Neurofeedback time to un-do all the ways of thinking it took some people their entire lifetimes to form. So give it time and stick with it- it’s the only REAL therapy I’ve ever done that actually worked!

My son, a Marine vet with PTSD, sought help while active and was denied. Honorably discharged 2 months ago, still waiting for a call back from the VA. 2 weeks ago after being intentionally triggered, had a violent episode which resulted in his arrest. He begged deputies to just kill him, that he just wanted to die. Tackled and tazed, cuffed and placed in the car. He got his hands to his front before leaving the scene. The deputy knew it and left my son like that for transport. They conversed for a while in route and about 12 miles away from the jail my son went quiet. When deputy went to assist my son out of the car he found him unconscious as he had tied a shoelace around his neck and to the cage in the car. Hospitalized for 3 days then booked into jail. Where he was isolated and quarantined until a few days ago, making his thoughts that much worse. Not receiving any help at all I have spent soooo many hours calling every resource given to me to help my son to just hit brick walls. Its disgusting how non existent they are. My son sits in jail feeling abandoned and forgotten by the Corps he loves. He needs to be in a hospital getting help. Had he received the help he sought and was denied none of this would have happened. Failed miserably by his comand.

@@whatthebleep2810 it's the getting home released part that has been an issue. The sheriff's department is punishing him for their mess ups. Trying to get the focus off of them and all on my son. The area he is incarcerated in, is a very "racist" area. He is only 15 miles away kkk national headquarters and has dark skin. We are not ones to "pull the race card" but in his case and all the "mess ups" and him "slipping threw the cracks" ....ss# posted to public website, went unrepresented after requesting a public defender...upon other violations of his civil rights, it's hard not to think that his skin tone isnt playing a role on his treatment and lack of treatment if that makes sense. I hope he gets released soon, before he has a successful 3rd attempt. I wish there were a way he could try neurofeedback in there, idk...I'm lost

@@manifestmisty I can only see ways that may be hard to accomplish what you want and that is to hire a good attorney but that cost money. Contact your state representative to get involved. Only problem is that you have to prove your allegations of misconduct and racism. Learn what his rights are and file a complaint. There has to be a higher authority than the sheriff’s office. I did find this link and under DOJ you can file a complaint against violation of civil rights. www.justice.gov/crt/addressing-police-misconduct-laws-enforced-department-justice But I would try to speak to the supervisor at the sheriff office first and if that doesn’t work then you need to escalate it. He only has you to advocate for him.

7.15....learned behavior...it does never unravel between "parent and offspring" unless the features of say, PTSD are unravelled before a child developing in the frame of a parent with the eternal pain and search for peace of which PTSD symptomology reflects. Many children from the second world war...the one just in passing now emerged from their early years with embedded PTSD as a community of peers normality...they achieved much as the rebuilders of much of the impact, yet many had featured life experiences which maintained components of PTSD for their entire lives...never always on exhibition, but tolerances and intolerances consistent with such a diagnosis

It's different according to each country's regulations.... I'm assuming you're in the USA, so you'd have the devices regulated by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and practitioners don't have to be certified by any medical board, but do have 1-2 years of training with the device.

Just look up naturopathic doctors in your area who does this. They’re ND and only have a 4 year degree vs 8-10 like a MD. This usually isn’t paid for by insurance which is why many people don’t pursue it. It can cost thousands of dollars to do.

When the "enemy" is not seen as human, that's when the "enemy" cannot be changed. It's really, really difficult to show love to people who are abusive, rude, murderers and more. Even the people living under the rule of terrorists might not be fully aware of what's going on. It's tough to show love, but it's love that will make actual change.
