My 77yrs old dad has hepatitis C which he contracted thru blood transfusions 40yrs ago. He had routine MRIs and they found few small spots throughout the years and he went for RFAs to burn the spots . 8 years ago they found another spot which he had it removed surgically and was properly diagnosed with intra hepatic cholangiocarcinoma . Just 2 weeks ago, dad developed jaundice and had ERCP with stent. We are still waiting for the pathology report but the doctors think is the recurrence of cancer and they already told us that surgery is not an option for my father.

In layman's terms what they're saying is.. you can forget about surviving this horrific & very rare Cancer.

Basically, yes. That is, if you don't have a successful surgery that removes all the cancer. If it has spread, most don't survive more than a few months.

@@AgentSmith911 Yes that is correct Anon, that was exactly how long it took our "loved" 💖one to pass away.. it did not buy her enough time for us to say goodbye..

Why would transplant be out of the question? Transplant should be the go to. We want our loved ones to live, not doctors to cop out.

My husband is fighting this. What we were told is once it has spread through other parts you are inoperable (no transplant) because it will just continue to spread. And the more you go into the body surgically then you are helping to spread the cancer. I am wondering why we don't treat each part that it is spread to on it's own. Like liver then work on lymph nodes or whatever. I have read great successes just not many. This particular cancer is a monster. Praying for more answers and help. For everyone.

@@kristibowen5771 A lot of prayers and love for your Husband.I know this is a hard time but this cancer is untreatable, my grandmother had been diagnosed with the same disease and she had been on chemotherapy from last 1 year till now (gemcitabine and carboplatin),chemo has improved the quality of life.
