Hey! I'm a licensed esthetician, I personally got laser hair removal as I have PCOS that causes hair growth on my upper lip. You will sign paperwork in office explaining there in no garentee for results. My results were poor I went for 10+ and nothing happened. Results are best with dark hair, mine is black and brown. The pain is really really horrible, I was prescribed lidocaine cream and it still didn't help. I would definitely not recommend this service for hirsutism. Based off experience. If I had seen any results maybe I would have continued overall wasn't worth it

I’m not a doctor either but I would say none of these stop it, they MAY slow the hair growth, as in you can go longer without shaving or plucking, but nothing is permanent except maybe electrolysis if you’re lucky. Laser is not permanent, it requires multiple sessions and then maintenance sessions afterwards forever. If you stop going for maintenance treatments it will eventually grow back. Both laser and electrolysis are expensive though.
@raynuh13818 күн бұрын
Spearmint capsules slow it down. And I pair that with an at home laser called ulike. It’s like $300 but works way better than the thousands of dollars I spent doing temporary laser sessions. Not even electrolysis worked for me but now its like 80% better

These suggestions are tailored to women with PCOS triggering hirsutism, which is hormone related, if you don’t have PCOS these suggestions may not work for you (aside from laser and electrolysis which isn’t a PCOS or hormonal imbalance specific treatment). If you don’t have PCOS, you have to figure out what’s causing your hirsutism in order to figure out how to best treat it.

I'm on the Spiro meds. So. First things first. That medicine might as well be a diuretic... I have IBS and it made my stomach and bowls a nightmare for the first few weeks and it lowered my blood pressure the first couple of weeks but it adjusted itself. Thats being said it helped in some ways. My already terminal hairs got a little softer/finer and it doesn't grow out quite as fast but I'm still only on a starting dose. I've been on it for about 5 months now so hopefully she'll up my dose or have something better🤷🏼♀️ reply to this comment if you ever want an update on this medication.

I don’t think you can be born with PCOS/PCOD. Spearmint tea is specific to treating hormonal imbalance caused by PCOS, so if you have hirsutism because of something other than PCOS, it shouldn’t work. Please consult a doctor to find out why you have hirsutism, so you can them figure how to best treat it. And as the other person said, electrolysis should work regardless of the reason you have hirsutism.

I haven’t but I’ve heard people with PCOS say it didn’t work for them. If you decide to try it anyways, know that IPL and all laser treatments do not work unless you have very fair skin and very dark hair. The laser has to be able to differentiate your skin from the hair or it won’t be able to target the hair and it won’t work… it could also burn your skin as it could target your skin rather than your hair.
