The first thing I would advise persons getting tinnitus for the first time to not do is to consult with an ENT specialist as in my experience none of them have a clue about tinnitus. So the number one thing to do is to achieve a real diagnosis of the cause because without knowing this you will not find an effective treatment. Some causes such as it coming on after being exposed to very loud noise, a change in medication, or nasal infections require physiological or medical intervention and are usually made worse by fear that bumps up your cortisol response and so the sympathetic nerve response. But since the widespread use of desk then laptop computers and mobile phones the first thing to eliminate is a link to the cervical nerves resulting from a head forward position. This was my situation and after wasting a year with ENT and other medical interventions I finally went to see a chiropractor and that was the moment when my cure began to the point that if I avoid stressing my neck vertebrae the tinnitus disappears.

Hi Ben, Thanks for all your help. I'm 65, had tinnitus for a year. Since it's a normal aging process and not a disease, with time and patience my brain has accomodated the ghost noise as white noise. A clean diet definitely helps, alcohol and processed foods seems to make it worse. Low carb and fasting has helped me. Antihistamine tablets works for me to reduce loudness. Head, neck massage helps. I do hot and cold shower massaging my head for 5 mins every day in the shower. Yoga and daily exercises is great for overall well being.

@@JacobAuthier Bringing tinnitus down to a more manageable level is good enough for me too. It's awesome. But for millions of other sufferers they're not just looking to bring the volume down they desperately seeking a cure. Do Oxygen therapies help?
@treblehealth6 ай бұрын
Oxygen therapies can indeed have benefits for overall health, which might indirectly reduce the bothersome effects of tinnitus. However, there's a need for further research to establish a direct correlation between oxygen therapy and tinnitus relief. It's an area that scientists and healthcare professionals are actively exploring to better understand potential treatment avenues for tinnitus.

Mine does the same, if I bend my neck forwards really hard the tinnitus increases dramatically. Same if I clench my jaw. Never thought much of it over the years as my tinnitus was annoying but didn’t ruin my life l, until recently when I had some sort of right ear issue then tinnitus got louder and changed sound. It’s been about 2 weeks now and I haven’t really slept, it’s so hard to deal with. And that’s coming from someone who’s already had it for 27 years… you would think I would get used to it the easiest but it wasn’t so.

@jeremiahcomer3 жыл бұрын
Sugar is inflammatory, especially cane sugar, try small amounts of maple syrup in recipes instead.

You don't need to go sugar free, but if it helps your body stay in a healthier state, that can have positive effects on the central nervous system.

New subscriber. I was wondering. My functional doctor did a heavy metal test on me because of fatigue and just overall health test. I was given chelation pills of DMSA and EDTA prior to the test . The result was low levels of mercury and lead. Although not high it was in the "yellow" or caution range. Within a week after this test I've been experiencing a humming in my ears mostly in my left ear. Not too loud but still annoying. Wondering if the chelation caused this? Its been about 4 weeks now and I've been taking glutathione to continue the detoxing per the MD. I think I've read that metals along with chelation can move around and maybe cause this?
