Hi, I recently had a MRI brain scan to check for some other issue non tinnitus related but I was asking myself if this scan could also be useful for an ENT to see is there is eventually some disorder that could be related to Tinnitus? Thanks.
@LynnBewley-u9n2 ай бұрын
Over 18 months wait for ent where I am. Just told nothing you can do. So just had to research and try to manage myself. I did have it but never heard it through the day just a little at night. Then mum died suddenly got an awful cold then all of a sudden ringing 24)7 also told I was clenching so I have three potential causes but no professional to see exactly just trying to habituate!
@Tod_oMal2 ай бұрын
@@LynnBewley-u9n My ent told me also nothing you can do about, because I have hearing loss. Fortunately by habituating I don't hear it anymore, except when I think about it. I hope science will bring a solution in the coming years though, because I cannot imagine what will it be if it gets worse.
@LynnBewley-u9n2 ай бұрын
@@Tod_oMal I hope I get to that too. I think maybe I've just lost my habituation status after the trauma! The sound has reduced and is more like static now. When people ask how do you rate it out of ten it's hard because you don't have anything to compare it to.

Ive had trigeminal neuralgia and that really sucks .. I also had a sever neck injury in past 5 years where I needed fusion surgery from C-1 to C-5 and that area has been bothering me lately pretty badly so I started using a grounding mat and a grounding bracelet to sleep with in the last month .. and after the first use I have greatly diminished ringing in ears.. That wasn’t why I got the grounding mat at all either .. a grounding mat or bracelet is supposed to reduce inflammation amongst other things.. it has been a welcomed surprise to not have all that noise between my ears .. I’m very happy with the grounding mat and especially the bracelet bc it’s easy to use at night and it calms the high pitch ringing .. I had no idea it would help me with ringing in the ears… I’m thankful the ringing has reduced and stopped .. it’s nice and quiet now .. I sleep with the bracelet on every night now.. I welcome the quiet .. I was completely surprised to get this relief in my ears when I was actually wanting to relieve inflammation in my cervical spine.. it’s worth a try and not very expensive for anyone with inflammation and apparently ringing in the ears to get a grounding mat and or a grounding bracelet.. I get relief when I use them.. maybe you will too ..

I have pulsatile tinnitus and when I move my jaw and tongue around, it changes the frequency. If I move my jaw totally to the side, sometimes I can make it go away for a couple seconds, but I can't walk around that way without getting laughed at. Do you know of a doctor in Los Angeles I can go to learn more about this and a possible way to help diminish it? Thank you for doing so much research on tinnitus.

Heading toward the one year mark now and through everything I've learned from you and other sources you introduced me to, most of my days are less than a 2 out of 10, I'm having a .5 out of 10 day which is blessed and I usually get a couple days in a week now. I don't really want to get into my specific case here, but in this journey something keeps coming up with testimonials and that is that sugar and alcohol play a role in the volume. Given that that is a factor, I believe managing your glycemic spikes throughout the day can also be a game changer. In addition to improving your overall health. It's not difficult to do and the perfect reference is the channel "glucose goddess." I would be very interested to hear dr. Ben's input.

I'm really sorry you're going through this. It sounds incredibly frustrating, especially with the tinnitus worsening after concerts and the lingering "ocean" sound in your ear. Tinnitus caused by loud noise and past infections can be persistent, but treatments like sound therapy, tinnitus retraining therapy (TRT), or even avoiding stimulants like caffeine could help. It might also be worth seeing an ENT or audiologist who can provide personalized advice and support.

I thought it was temporary but over the years has got worse. Then 3 years ago I caught (covid I think) and had a 48 hour migraine headache (I never get headaches) which was so painful it scared me.
