For 2019 the Cannondale Badboy has been left unchanged from the ever popular 2018 models. We take a look at these models and what each model offers.
If you're looking for a unique commuter that is both fun and safe, then look no further than the Cannondale Bad Boy.
With Cannondales iconic lefty fork and packed full of innovative features it certainly ticks a lot of boxes.
We take a look at the range and what makes these bikes so unique.

The Cannondale CAADX is an aluminium cyclocross bike, built to be a fantastic racer, with honed geometry, made to give you the competitive edge. It’s not only made for racing, however. For commuting purposes, it could be the ultimate bike. The versatile handling and robust parts make the CAADX ideal for taking on rough city streets as well as back country adventures. We review the CAADX model range, showing the highlights.
With the ability to take up to a 37c tyre, a full complement of mudguard and rack mounts and a comfortable riding position, the CAADX is a bike that can take on many roles. As a winter bike, there’s little else you could wish for, especially when the weather turns. With reasonable price points and fantastic value for money, the Cannondale CAADX range makes for an attractive do-it-all dropbar bike.
The Cannondale CAADX is an amazingly versatile bike. Its main purpose is to race in the demanding cyclocross discipline, but it is also happy doubling as your everyday workhorse. The lightweight alloy frame gets comfortable geometry, making it great for both racing as well as hitting city streets.
From the entry-level CAADX Tiagra to the range-topping CAADX Ultegra, you get Shimano groupsets that are built to shift smoothly in any condition. Every model gets a parts spec that is capable from the off and comes at a very competitive price point too. If a more premium build is what you’re after, then the carbon-framed Cannondale SuperX is worth a look.

Too true. A mate of mine was ALMOST bikejacked in London last week. But the thieves underestimated the "old guy" on a bike, and he managed to sprint to safety. Doesn't always turn out so well.

Can mud guards be fitted to this bike,I currently have SKS Long boards fitted to my Kinesis and would like a similar size mudguard for this if such thing exists. After all Cannondale class this bike as an urban commuter so they must know riders will want to fit some sort of weather protection!

Reminds me of the Trek Soho from a few years back, (Though this seems much nicer with that buttery Lefty fork and hydro discs.) That stem looks like a angled re-imagining of Odyssey's Elementry BMX stem. I would ride this.

Whats the point of a commuter bike that you can't fit mud guards to. A stupid integrated top tube protector , pathetic. Who ever designed this bike should lose there job. A light in the fork stay , what the fuck for. People need lights to see with not be seen , most arsehole drivers aren't looking for us. (Not that a rack should go on such a beauty, but for a winter commute it's just too much weight to put on my back between all the layers and change of clothes/shoes and such)

It went together easily in less than an hour. kzbin.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.

I hate one way forks. It is so stupid to use those, no advantages at all.
@ElegyForTheMasses
@ElegyForTheMasses 6 жыл бұрын
There are advantages to it. For one, it's lighter than a full fork, especially when shock absorbers are involved. Secondly, in tight downhill turns or heavy braking the fork works under side load instead of binding on itself, which is typical of telescoping assemblies. Chassis siffness, plushness, lack of bushing bind during braking, best stiffness to weight ratio for forks of the same class, and best of all, you don't have to take the wheel off to change a flat.
@elukok
@elukok 6 жыл бұрын
It is not lighter. It must be beefed up compared to a single side of a normal fork. It also has to take much higher forces while riding as it is not symmetrical to the way of movement. There are more problems like twisting and other stuff that are more or less not present with regular forks. It is basically just for "cool" looks. But i agree that changing a tire is easier and quicker, the only advantage i see.
@ElegyForTheMasses
@ElegyForTheMasses 6 жыл бұрын
On my previous Cannondale, I didn't have any twisting or steering issues with the lefty fork. It felt natural when riding. The only asymmetry I noticed was in the aesthetics. I did end up exchanging it for a Cannondale Quick 4 (with regular forks) since I couldn't justify the price for my use and the Quick 4 was significantly cheaper.
@elukok
@elukok 6 жыл бұрын
I suggest an experiment - get one of these fitness training wheels - www.teoesportes.com.br/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/perder-barriga.jpg Try to get as low as possible using two hands and then with one hand and then compare which one was more effective and using which were you able to get lower. This would give you a good idea of some of the different forces when using these single sided forks and how much of a stupid idea these are (if easy change of front wheel is not an absolute necessity). Dont get me wrong, I believe they work, but no way can they withstand the same amount of beating while weighting the same as normal fork and also wouldn't hold up in a long run as long as normal forks.

Hi Dozzy, Although the bike only has 8 gears, the way the internal hub works allows it to have a 307% gear range, which is pretty big! There is going to be a bigger jump between each gear, but you are still going to have the low gears to climb the hills, and the big gears to keep you cruising fast. Hope this helps!

Overpriced gimmickry . Cannondale has always appealed to those enamored with pretention and looks.

What an asinine remark. Almost everyone would agree that the lefty fork looks terrible. Its there to serve a purpose and it serves that purpose well. I assume you have never actually ridden a Cannondale?

Not sure what that's supposed to mean. I owned a bike with one sided fork, and it was useful for offroading and downhill activities I participated in. In tight downhill turns or heavy braking the fork works under side load instead of binding on itself, which is typical of telescoping assemblies. Other benefits included chassis siffness, plushness, lack of bushing bind during braking, best stiffness to weight ratio for forks of the same class, and you don't have to take the wheel off to change a flat. I didn't have as good luck with a similar spec'd Trek with standard forks.
