What conclusions can I draw. Making a sword from a single piece of wood, when the handle and blade are one thing, is an interesting activity. This is not a guide or a guide on how to make a katana out of wood with your own hands, this is a record of what I spent my free time hoping to get likes.

Bet that was fun to make. I make my own bokken, usually maple branches. Never tried to do an all out sword replica. Nice.

I’m not shooting any shots at any people in the comments or to this creater when I say this, but that is not a katana, it is a Nodachi/Tachi/O-katana, the katana’s forgotten big brother. Albeit it is still really beautiful.👌🏽

Где-то месяц пролежала. Перед этим совсем свежую брал. Клинок выстругал и забыл о ней на пару дней. За это время она подсохла и ее извело чуть ли не по спирали. Такие дела.

Каким-то красным лаком для дерева сначала легонько кисточкой прошел по всей поверхности. Потом густенько в кисть набрал и по верху как на видосе промакивал, чтоб подтекало. Остальные части покрашены морилкой для дерева. Тут нужно аккуратно, чтобы капли снизу клинка не наросли. Лучше на чем-нибудь попробовать сначала, чтобы понять насколько лак/краска текучая. Самые дешевские лак и морилка были, рублей по 80 что ли. В бутылках стеклянных.
