I have been power watching these videos every chance I get. I do things the same way, "just as they come to me" LOL Sometimes it works out, & sometimes it does not. So I think that's why I enjoy watching so much. Well, that & how sweetly you explain everything. Thank you for so many great ideas & for admitting when something may not be your idea. Most things I do has been inspired by something I have seen someone else do. I may do it differently with the same outcome, but I always want to give credit to whoever inspired me. And I love that the majority of crafters like to inspire others. I know I do. And can tell you do as well. Thanks so much for sharing. Look forward to watching more. Hope you & yours are good & healthy. TYFS

Probably a dab of fabric glue or hot glue will stop fraying on the corners Francke from Brisbane

Love how these turned out. I have kept the raw selvage of all my fabrics and used them for mixed media art and jewelry designs, but I will definitely be using it for my next mini project as well. Love all your techniques. ❤

You can use burlap frayed for the trim. Then use another piece on back side. Denim works good too for a frayed edge.

Two tips…if you leave your needle down whilst sewing and turning your fabric, the fabric turns much easier. I couldn’t see if you were already doing this so please excuse me if you were.x Second tip…if you iron the paper on the back of sample fabrics it loosens the glue, peel off when still hot and keep heating it til you get all the paper off. Love your channel.x

Hi Sharon, a tip for your rugs the side that you don't want to fray you can melt the fabric by running a wood burning pen or a smoldering pen along the side, if the fabric is cotton it will not melt but any other kind works wonders I use it on satin ribbons it gives me a clean finish that never frays.you inspired me to make my own tree on the wall, wish me luck :)

There is a product called Fray Check sold where fabrics are sold, liquid you put on to prevent fraying. I used to use clear bail polish on my stockings all the time though

didn't you mention in another video that you had to take this apart (destroying it in the process) because you needed to move it and it was too big? This could have been used in a stop motion movie!

I forgot, yes those crochet rugs will hopefully make it into this series as well, those will need a bit more time. To crochet them so they lay flat takes a bit of effort... I want to also do rag rugs! I think rag rugs would be adorable but I think these fabric ones are the easiest and fastest way. It's just awesome to have options

ohhh I know! You're so awesome.. I feel it's important to do that, especially now in today's world with this wonderful way we can share and reach so many via blogs, fb and youtube. It's a great thing to be inspired by others and say so, there's nothing wrong with that and it doesn't take anything away from us at all. Community is a wonderful thing. Thank you for the kind words, I so appreciate it

Sorry if this has been answered before in videos or comments - but for the wood pieces stained with instant coffee AFTER being installed (like the ceiling beams) how do you seal them?
@WhereTheGnomesLive
@WhereTheGnomesLive 5 жыл бұрын
I still spray them if I can, if not, then I run my brush, dipped in sealer, very quickly across and only one stroke. It has worked for me, although you will get some stain on your brush so I would pour a bit of the sealer out of the can and into a container.
