I also love a good tree block. I made the Moda branching out trees last year and it’s on my bed and I love it. Then you hooked me on the wonky trees and I made mine in Christmas fabrics and I am currently quilting it to have ready for Christmas. Can’t wait to see how this turns out.

I love your creativity with your pine tree blocks. What is the finished size of this block? 10”? If I need measurements for a 6” and a 10” tree block how much smaller would I make these pieces? I am thinking I should make a 6” or a 10” block to fit in my quilt . Thank you so much for your video.

Love this. My daughters would love this. Also, I Have a little comment, the black clamshell background is stinking cute, but the bottom section with the trunk is upside down. You are so particular with your other blocks, thought you would like to know. Keep these great tutorials coming! Happy thanksgiving!
@mostlyquilts13862 жыл бұрын
I was wondering if anyone would notice, good eye! Yes, I sewed the background on upside down for half the block (and I think sideways on one piece). I decided to embrace it and leave it but I may still go back and fix it if it continues to bother me (which it may). Happy quilting to you!

I just watched your great video. I’m already thinking about the leftover strips i can use for this project. I have a question about the trunk portion. If the trunk is a 2.5” square don’t the background pieces need to be bigger than 4.5” to equal the width of the other tree pieces? The math is not working out in my head. 🤪

@Marialla. Жыл бұрын
I'm curious now how well this block would sew up as a wonky project, using random strip widths and lengths. Maybe even making some strips slanted. My hope would be that it could come out looking more naturalistic. I think I'll try making one using only scissors. I tend to get wonky more easily that way.
